Today's list went pear-shaped though I did get the shopping done and it was quite reasonable. It came on to rain - heavily - so the towels had to be fetched off the line and the second load of washing had to wait till later to dry. Actually between showers it was warm and humid so my hair went wild!
The rest of the things can wait. Tomorrow I have a meeting for work and am visiting Mum. Full stop. That's enough.Miggy

Managed to stick to my plan for yesterday.
Two items - can do this much!
Actually went quite well - lots of people didn't turn up for the meeting but the new Area Manager did so I am hoping I managed to shine a bit! He's the sort of person I suspect takes note of individuals. I'm also hoping he didn't see that I went quiet immediately after my line manager remembered I'd not had my appraisal! Something of a vain hope if he's as observant as we think he is, but maybe his mind was on rotas or something.
The mention of the appraisal stressed me - among other things it took me back to a traumatic time around a death in the family, hence the going quiet. As I've already had one incident this week that made me realise I'm stressed and not coping well, I'm wondering what action to take. I'm not on the level of 'not coping' that I was a year ago, but I think the defence mechanisms are kicking in early to prevent me getting overwhelmed, even though the things I'm finding difficult should be within my capacity.
However... visited Mum in the afternoon and the visit went well, including a positive discussion with her regarding finances and flu jabs! This cheered me up and made me feel the next 'dread' - a meeting on Friday about her benefits with her and the Pensions Depratement - may not be so bad. I need to dig out the documents but they're in folders so that shouldn't take too long. I also need to print out bank statements which will need work as our printer keeps throwing wobblies and the public ones - at the library - aren't confidential. If all else fails though I am sure a friend would print them out for me.
So... today... I need to take things a bit at a time and celebrate steps taken rather than try to look too far ahead. And it's raining - hard. There is an absolute mound of washing so that will give me something to distract me from bank statements and their kin!
Will be back later to talk to myself a bit and see how it's going. Readers may ignore if they wish.It just helps keep me on track.

There's a load going round in the washing machine and the rain seems to have stopped - so far so good. I did some ironing too.
On the minus side, I started to download Mum's bank statements and something wasn't working so I have that to go back to - and then I managed to drop something on my little finger which is a bit bruised in consequence.
Lunch was MS as I had a packet of spicy spelt bought from AF ages ago and cluttering up the cupboard. It wasn't too inspiring but I don't have to get it again and at least it was low fat.
Talking of food, I read an article on foods that improve your mood, lots of which I have and enjoy already. I mean, marmite isn't going to make you feel better if you loathe it, is it? I love it though and apparently the Vit B12 does something good. So do bananas, fish oils, walnuts, brazil nuts and, of course, chocolate. So I have had some of each today (and am reasonably cheerful)! Article is here in case you want an excuse to eat chocolate.Miggy

My excuse is usually that chocolate comes from a bean and beans are vegetables, so chocolate must count as one of my 'five-a-day'!2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Got a few errands done and the shopping too. Spent 40p on two bunches of flowers which had been £8 before being marked down! They are lovely and really cheer the place up.
I've switched on one of the storage heaters so tomorrow's washing will dry, and also because there is a slight musty smell which we can't trace but which began with the wet weather. I hope it's not a dead mouse! One got in when I left the garden door open and hasn't been seen since - but it could have got out as easily as it got in. The other option is that the wet weather is making the house damp and I'd rather it didn't do that.
The other food adjustment I've made is to cut back on coffee. I hadn't realised what a lot I was having and I feel better for having water instead (not a tea drinker).
Errands done:- Paid vet's bill - not nearly as bad as I'd thought (phew).
- Paid Mum's paper bill (and forgot the pre-paid vouchers for her paper so I've that to do tomorrow),
- Requested cheque books and remembered queries to make at the bank. They will charge me a flat rate of £5 if I ask them to send out statements.
- Tried again to print out statements. Printer went 'Err-er, Err-er, Err-er... CLUNK!' several times then, in case I hadn't got the message, gave me a big red 'E'.
- Gave the Small Furry some dandelions to make up for it not being summer.
Off to make pancakes for tea - cheap and cheerful.Miggy

So much for me having an early night...
I saw a magazine in the newsagents today and was quite tempted because there was a knitting pattern I quite fancied making as a present for my neice. £4 though...And would I ever get round to it?!
Tonight I googled the name of the magazine and added the word 'knitting' and found the pattern is free on line! Also a knitted Peppa Pig which DD would adore.
Result!I wonder if I can concentrate enough to do knitting while working nights? There's one way to find out.
