I think the vitamins are taking effect: definitely feeling much better yesterday and today. SF is on antibiotics (when I can catch her to give them) so for the time being things are better there.
Still within the first £10 of this week's food money too, which is unusual for a Wednesday.
I missed the Aurora Borealis though apparently it was seen from the Dales two nights ago. I keep looking!Miggy

Exhausted today: refresher course in Emergency Aid over an hour away which was interesting and informative but not for the squeamish. At least I now know how to bandage an arm with glass sticking out, how to treat a heart attack and what to do if someone swallows a corrosive poison, as well as the usual CPR and so on. Jolly fun. Yuck.
So tired when I got back that I was shaky... well, maybe that was because I couldn't get coffee on the way home.
There was a rumour that I might get a set pattern of rotas. That lasted about two days. Shame really.Miggy

I meant to say: last week's food budget for some reason had £30 to spare at the end of the week. Where did that come from?!Miggy

Acquaintances are many but friends are very rare
For with a true and trusting friend your secrets you can share
Your friend will comfort you and advise you and you will not betray
Your friend will never disown you and as your friend will stay
When others do not wish to know you your friend as your friend remain
And feel lucky in your lifetime if one loyal friend you gain
Your friend will always stand by you no matter come what may
And when you ask your friend for help your friend will not turn you away
No your friend will stand by you when you are feeling down
When others shun you as if you were an outcast of the town
Acquaintances like Nature's Seasons they come to your life and go
But your friend a friend for lifetime and the bond of friendship grow
Your friend to you is ever true and one on whom you can depend.
You will always be a friend in my heartDebt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

It's been lovely to have the house full of the BP all weekend but of course DD is now back at Uni and the others are at work and school. I did manage to get most of the party food finished, thought there are still a couple of fattening dips in the fridge. We gave DD a fiver to make sure she got a cab once she arrived. She's also asked if we can pay for something she wants to do at Uni which will cost £100+ so we're having a think about it. We may meet her part way on it. I've said I need to see her taking good care of her money, not spending so much on clothes. She can't resist the 'student discounts' - the downside of an eye for a bargain, I suppose. To her credit she is taking most of the latest splurge back. :rotfl: She wants some Ugg boots too and is thinking about getting some. I know the real thing is expensive but she says they will last better than the cheap imitations. However, if she spends the money on that, she won't have it for other things and really and truly... well... I've survived all these years without a pair of real Ugg boots, haven't I? :rotfl:
.
When it gets really cold and snowy (if it does snow) she'll want something more sturdy than Uggs...also like I don't think they are waterproof.
But if she has set her heart on them there's nothing you can do and so much of Uni seems to be about the right 'look' with your friends as you search for your dress identity. I have my dress identity. I don't need uggs (what's the appeal ) but I do need a decent shoulder bag (gotten last weekend for £83 including postage off some German site), my e-cig and like a decent mobile and lappie (can't stand netbooks though they are cheap enough to replace when they die LOL)
I currently have an xperia arc and am not keen on it as it took forever to upgrade to ICS (ice cream sandwich) and I don't think it'll ever take jelly bean... so yeah...mobile has to be decent. Either samsung S3 (though students don't seem to be bothered by phones. So long as it can text and make calls their happy :A) or Iphone 5.. Now you can get a Samsung S3 off amazon for about £350 if she needs one (unlocked) then just get a sim only deal. Or else you can get a chinese copy for about £150. :T
So yeah...I don't know about work...Only you can decide on that. All I know is Uni students are expensive. Can't you get your DD to shop at charity shops more or freegle/freecycle? Just a thought?
