The cheapest deal I can find for the Desire with 600mins plus 3000 texts is £30 a month for 24 months with £225 cashback, making the monthly equivalent £20.63. The cheapest Vodafone deal is the equivalent of £21.25 a month. Neither of these deals is through the network provider and I very much doubt that a network would provide a deal that good as it is probably not even covering the cost of the phone.

  • Hi Exhortation

i know what you are saying about the cost of the phone but i have never taken a contract out over £20 berfore in 15 years and the only reason i took the offer directly through Vodaphone is because i was told it was £20 and i made sure i got a very clear clarification on this, plus another poster on here got the same offer. The Vodaphone web team even left a link / directions to contact them for people to take out the same offer (classed as a twitter exclusive deal apparently too)

It seems a bit strange that CS don't know that the web team exists. Having said that, it isn't unusual in big organisations for the left hand not to even know that the right hand exists never mind be aware of what it is up to! Is there not some kind of agreement number you can quote to get them to investigate this further?

  • I have a few emails from them regarding my query and where i have informed them about taking up the contract - I used to have a telephone number for them but in my new phone change over it got lost, but most of transaction was done over the phone. I ring CS and see if they have on record who set up my contract - i know i spoke to Kaleight and Ben as well so will see what happens from there.

As with all call centres they will have recordings of the conversations If you can provide dates and rough times then they should be able to find the recordings quite easily. Otherwise, it'll take them all of about two minutes for someone to look at your account and find the details for themselves.

Vodafone is known for "losing" recording when they have signed people up to something different than what was agreed, account notes tend to disappear too...

  • Thanks Yolina, i will bear that in mind - i have found a direct email to the web team and have just sent an email, and have gotten their automated reply about being in touch within 48hrs so will see but i hope i dont have to resort to trying to find the recordings:(

If you fail to resolve things through the web team, you can try vodafonedirectorsoffice@vodafone.com - it's as high up as VF CS goes and from experience they've managed to sort out the various problems I've had...

You're welcome, I know first hand how frustrating dealing with Vodafone's CS can be - I ended up emailing the UK CEO and the people from the email given above are the ones who dealt with things at that point.
