It's gutting for me really. Two of our neighbours houses were repossessed and sold at about £25k less than they paid for them. We're never going to be able to sell our house.saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.
We're 29% of the way there...0 -
At the end of that report:
"A separate house price index by LSL Property Services suggested buyers are taking advantage of lower prices with the number of properties sold up 20 per cent to 63,500 in June, from almost 53,000 the previous month. "
It's nice that bears have bearish indexes and bulls have bullish indexes. Pity that if you only read one or the other, you'll never see the whole picture."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -
There seems to be a lot of bears coming out of the woodwork over the last couple of weeks, many have been M.I.A. for quite a while, anyone would think that house prices have started to go down.
It's nice, because you can't see the whole picture if you only have bears posting on MSE (I discount carolt's attention seeking - if this site was predominantly bearish, she would be a bull just to stir up trouble) . Welcome back guys, nice to have a balanced debate!
Can you please stick around though when prices go back up instead of running and hiding?
Cheers!

This is good news for first time buyers and hopefully will mean house prices will start to reflect reality instead of the bubble prices that we have come to know.0

What a lovely thread. I particularly like phrases like:
"a second leg of the house price correction soon.".0 -
