Help with iphone 4

Random question but I wasn't sure where else I could ask this.

I have just got the new iphone 4 which now operates using a micro sim. I have upgraded my contract with O2, so kept the same number. Unfortunately, I dont have a clue how to transfer my numbers over from the old sim to the new micro sim.

Does anyone know?
Thanks

Phone numbers are usually stored on the phone these days. What was your old handset? Do you still have it?

Yeh, still have my old phone. I need to deactivate my old sim to activate the new sim so have no way of transferring the contacts over.

Also, how do you keypad lock your iphone manually?

    I am such a blonde!

To lock it press the button on the top.

To be honest I suspect that the easiest option for you (unless you have hundreds) will be to manually enter them into your new phone. It will give you practice typing on the phone too ;)

With normal phones, you can save your contacts on your sim and phone. Is this possible on the iphone?

Doesn't matter eitherway as the old sim can be used in the old phone and the new sim card in the iPhone. They are different sizes.

What I mean is, I am adding contacts to my iphone, manually adding them. Its not giving me an option to save them on the phone or sim like it normally would.

Sorry, ignore the last answer, I was getting my wires crossed :)

No, I don't think you can specify where to save your contacts to.

The micro sim came with an adapter. You could try putting your microsim into your old phone using the adapter and then saving contacts to sim.

If they are stored on your old sim your only quick option is to cut the existing SIM to microsim size. Then once inserted go to Settings>Mail,Contacts etc and import from SIM.

    http://www.macnotes.de/images/micro-sim-schablone-macnotes.pdf has a template.

If you go to an Apple store they can also do the transfer.
