It's a good lesson.

I have to wear full kit at work come rain or shine.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Ours have to have their blazers in school but the rules are relaxed, it's purely for the uniform check (and I think, in case we get a surprise ofsted!). They are allowed to take them off in lessons and on some really hot days, we get a message saying that the boys can loosen their ties and undo their top buttons.
I personally think it is unreasonable to make them wear them and if it wasn't school policy I'd relax the rules in my classroom regardless in this heat.Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
We had to wear blazers when in the coridoors. Once we got into a class we could take it off (if it was break) or ask a teacher to take it off (if it was a lesson).
When out and about in the school grounds we had to wear it when walking around (so if we were playing football or sat on the grass we could take it off), plus we could take it off as soon as we left the school grounds when walking to and from school.
If you ever didn't take your blazer it was instant detention.
Sounds fair to me!Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
My DD's school insist on the blazer being worn to and from school and they should have it on when they enter the premises they also have to have it on when going between lessons but are allowed to take it off during lessons if the weather is hot. There is also a little by rule stating that short sleeved shirts should be worn during hot spells if they want to remove their blazers.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Mine shove theirs on when they get out of the car at school and take them off as soon as they get inside so its not really a problem. They have a summer and winter uniform. DD came home yesterday saying she had been told off by the headmistress for not wearing her straw hat. She is supposed to have been wearing it since Easter, got told off yesterday, and breaks up on Friday! Hardly worth it being mentioned!January GC: £64.81/£80.00

All I can remember from my 3rd year french lessons is sitting in sweltering heat in summer having to wear a blazer and nobody concentrating because we were all so uncomfortable!
I do agree with setting high standards in school uniform but you need to be comfortable and relaxed in order to concentrate.0 -
DS2 has to wear a long sleeve shirts and a thick pure wool jumper.. and they are not allowed to take it off unless the individual teacher gives permission. They have to put it back on to go to the next lesson and request permission from that teacher ..
over 500 boys in woolly jumpers does not a pleasant working environment make!!
In years 10-11 they have to wear a shirt and tie, v-neck jumper and blazer.. unless given permission to remove any of it..
Yes it is cruel I think.. but teaches them discipline and builds character (so they say!).. but heck do they stink when they get home!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Is it fair to make students wear blazers in this heat?
I think it's unreasonable and wondered what others think.
It's absolutely fine.
Millions of people up and down the country wear suits each and every weekday to work.
They seem to do just fine."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Cool is a state of mind0
