There were loads of fraudulent transactions on it, going way above my credit limit, but it did actually help that I hadn't collected it from the bank because it was easy for me to maintain that it was the bank's fault.
Once, I arranged to collect a debit card from a different, more local branch of a building society since the branch which was holding it for me to collect was a couple of hundred miles away. They agreed to arrange this for me and I was supposed to go to the local branch in 2-3 days time to collect it. However, the next morning, my debit card arrived in the post in an envelope with a compliment slip. So much for fraud prevention measures.
Once left my card at the branch (the counter assistant didn't give it me back)
Rang up to cancel because I thought I'd lost it.
Next day they kindly sent it back, in an envelope with a compliment slip, No security, and you could see the shape of the card after it had been though the Royal Mail sorting machines!! :rolleyes:0 -
Managed to get the sending details of one of the cards confirmed, so I can get back to RM about it soon - hopefully with the extra info they'll take it more seriously.
It's day ten of the ten days I was given to receive the replacements for the last two missing cards - so guess I've lost them too now - have to see about getting delivery to a branch - but the above story worries me even more if someone's bank's nicked them too! Banks always have such fantastic opening hours too - or should I call them closing hours(!)
Not had mail today yet, so it'll have to be tomorrow to ring and cancel etc, hope I can get the sending details from these guys too - give the dodgy RM folks (whoever they may be) a chance to spend on my cards first!0
