Which is why RM should be more than happy to investigate any complaints instead of asking for info that you could not possibly know.0

smcaul wrote:Yes there is, there are lots of alternatives, what you mean is there are none that can do it for the same price. TNT, DHL, Parceline etc etc will all gladly take your letter and deliver it, but they will charge far higher rates then RM do. If your delivery is really that important then maybe you should use one of the others, but you might first want to note that RM and ParcelForce have no better or worse loss figures then any other courier in the market place.
So True TNT and DHL Do letters now and they are as bad, and for the money you pay RM for your post you get a very good deal.[IMG][/IMG]0 -
I'm sure the Royal Mail are able to flag your mail up to be "watched" if there is reason they think mail is missing.
Maybe they want to know more about the mail as there are lots of 3rd party delivery companies and they need to check who these items were sent using.
It is a possibility your pins may have been sent using a different company - this is maybe why they were received and not intercepted.
I find some financial companies that I use, seem to send credit cards and statements through TNT mail and for me these have a habit of going missing or coming very late. I wish they would use normal Royal Mail as everything seems to come on time with the normal mail service.0 -
Royal Mail don't seem to care about missing mail unless you've sent it special delivery using a high compensation payment too :rolleyes:0

The postie making the delivery is the last person involved. Before that, the post goes through several sorting offices and is handled by endless people to get from A to B.
I don't see that it can be easy
And people think email is not secure. At least you can trace the precise route it takes from sender to recipient!Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
even recorded delivery goes missing. I sent a job acceptance (for work in St Lucia) via recorded delivery and it got 'lost'. However, recieved 6 stamps as compensation (!) as job was priceless to me but not worth a bean to them. Final straw was when stamps were stolen out of envelope en route to my house. Royal Mail is a joke.0

Ive been having ebay payment not arriving, one payment had the side of the envelope totally ripped off, but the postal oreder had my name on it, and this was inside!! Then last week, i had a payment and the OH noticed it had a rip on one corner. suprise suprise, no money inside!! I had two payment BOTH go missing, from two totally different people. This all in 3 months!
I for one am totally sick of it! What happened to the good ole royal Mail we had? The one that ENSURED you got sure post, and not just "dumped" it on your doorstep, rang your bell and just walked away, even when raining!!!
I asked headoffice about this, and got no response0 -

I guess postmen/women aren't allowed holidays
to be sick
The posties who cover the regular postie can be on that delivery for 1 day or a week, Yes they can be traced, there are duty rosters so management can check.
Posties DO get sacked for tampering with mail, if anyone thinks their mail has been tampered with take the evidence to the Delivery Office and insist on speaking to a manager.
Rogue Posties give all the others a bad name0
