Why do you need childcare for a 13 year old?

today I was shock, because someboy that I work with is leving because she is better off in benefit.
Since she has started working her council tax and rent have gone up. the think she is living in this country for 16 years and she has not bothered to improve her English.

You will still be entitled to council tax benefit - through ticking 'non dependant rebate box' on the CT form - you will still be entitled to CTC for 13 yr old and WTC as you only work PT. You're DD will be entitled to JSA - so she can contribute to the household.

if she works under 16 hours and receive less than JSA + £5, then yes.

    Why?

If I had a child now, Id have to pay to have the child looked after.

    Everyone I know would!!

and that would be a childcare option
as opposed to no chilcare options

a 13 year old is capable of being left at home from 9-5 in the school holidays, and making his or her own way back from school

im the last person in the world to ever ever benefits-bash- but why should you be given money because you dont want to work just because of your 13 year old?

its not like a 13 year old cant (or cant learn to) cook a meal/make some food, get washed and dressed, use public transport, go to a shop, etc etc. why do you need childcare?

obviously if he/she has a disability or illness then none of this appies
2 esa medicals passed successfully (support group - it can be done!!)!! :j
