I appreciate your rant, don't worry.
I don't agree with anti-depressants either. Tablets might work for some people but I just point blank don't like taking tablets. The friend thing wasn't a two-way thing. She's just out to see what she can get out of people. She works with a couple of members of my family and she's like that with everyone....take,take,take. They did warn me but as I said earlier I like to always see the best in the people. Even if she had been skint I would rather she have told me than lie to me and try and con money out of me (not once but twice). She had taken the **** more than a few times throughout our friendship including while I was house-bound. (Which wasn't funny as not being able to go out she had volunteered to go get me essential items I needed. I'll try not be too graphic, time of the month stuff. Then just didn't show up and when she was tackled by my family who live 50 miles away about it her answer was she forgot to come over. Point being she offered to pick up the stuff and head over to mine just as she was leaving her work). I don't think I need friends like that do I? Trying to con me out of money was just the final straw.

thats right- you dont need friends like that. Sounds like she has done a lot in the last year to !!!!!! you off, after a few instances like tht, just have to move on.
When you say that you always see the best in people.. and did all of this stuff for your friend last year - do u think that u are too nice- then people take advantage??
look after yourself and do whatever to build ur self esteem.. and positive things will happen
One more thing, you see negative things/problems in situations then look for others (like family) or emails etc to back up your thoughts and tell you that they are right- could be they have negative views aswell, try and think positively0 -
I'm trying, it is difficult to think positive as everything seems to have come at once. Not sure what I'd do without this site.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Things do seem to have a way of all coming at once, especially the bad stuff! Still, there's things on here that you can be proactive about. Especially your work situation - if your worried that redudancy is on the cards and if your boss is as bad as you say, then start looking for another job. Get your cv in order and start scoping out the market for whatever industry you're in.
I always feel much better about things like that when I have a plan in place and I feel like I'm back in control of the situation.0 -

You've obviously not had 'neighbours from hell' then. I did, and had to call the police regularly, as having kids shooting airguns near you, throwing stones / eggs at your windows, having parties until 4AM with cars in the street blaring music out and revving their engines. There's nothing you can do in that situation apart from call the police and council, if you went round to see them to have a word, you'd get spat at, abused, and threatened. I'm a big bloke with broad shoulders, but I didn't see why I should have to take that, my girlfriend was petrified and didn't want to leave the house sometimes. Call me weak and part of the blame culture if you want, but I can say for definite that you wouldn't have put up with that, and I am sure that goes for the OP's situation as well.0 -
Thanks rsykes2000. I live on my own and no one should have to put up with nuisance neighbours.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Hiya,
I don't normally post much on this board, but you made me think about how I felt last year when threatned with redundancy - I was in a similar situation with a boss I didn't get on with (though not as serious as your situation). The best thing to do is not to wait for it to happen, but to be proactive about it - get an up-to-date CV together (if you don't have one at the mo, I'm sure there are lots of people on here who can help) and start looking at other jobs. Even if you don't apply for much - just pick ones you really like the sound of rather than anything and everything - at least it makes you feel like you're doing something about it. And you never know, one could work out. I think that it might really help even if you're not made redundant - as there's nothing worse than feeling rubbish about something you spend so much of your time doing - when I finally did get made redundant I was so relieved to be out of a horrible atmosphere that I felt fantastic rather than sad, and I've ended up in a much nicer job.
It's a guess from your user name, but if you are in the field that suggestes then you should be in much demand - lots of talk about 'skills shortages' recently in that kind of thing...0
