    Hi All
When rooting around in the loft this morning, I've discovered 8 x 4 Branston Baked Beans packs..i stashed them there in 2010 and then forgot all about them (note to self: in future...I MUST STOCK TAKE RELIGIOUSLY!)
The Best Before date is Dec 2012. All tins look undamaged, intact and have been kept in dark dark place!

Am I ok to eat these..anything that might make me suspicious??

    thanks all!

If you hadn't found them until 2023, they would probably still be alright to eat.

As long as tins aren't damaged or "blown", I wouldn't worry about the dates on them.

as a previous poster said as long as their not 'blown' or the tins are damaged at all I would happily scoff them I buy the big fridge jars when they're on offer at a quid in Iceland as they are the equivilant at a kilo of four tins and as their 'Heinz' they are darned good quality and work out at 25p per normal size tin cheaper than the value ones..They are full of protein and can be added to so many things apart from just toast I use them as a jacket spud filler or even with a main meal as an extra veg.chuck them in a lasagne to streeeetch the mince out a bit. With four of my grandson who eat for England they are a great tummy filler :):)
  • Please think of the children and try not to blow them all in a week.

Add some curry powder or paste and a dollop of plain yoghourt ....love having beans on toast like this for a change.

Sausage and bean casserole - just add some browned sausages to a couple (or a few) tins of baked beans, add either a can of tomatoes or a couple tablespoons tomato puree, dash of brown or Worcester sauce and cook for about 35 to 45 mins in a medium oven. one of my favourite casseroles in the winter!
