Thank you all. I'm going to use the Tuna. I knew I could rely on MSE.

What about tinned cream please with an expiry date of 03 2012? It is "Puck Cream" modified with vegetable oil/Honey taste (Arla Foods Denmark). Smells and looks nice. Would tasting a little be worth it? Or, as it is a dairy based product, not worth it? Thanks.

Tinned and only dated March this year? Of course, try it. If it smells and looks OK, I have every confidence that it'll taste OK.

PS. I'm not too sure about the name, though. :)

Okay, thanks for your reply Stephen Leak.

    Yes, that's the name!
  • Have just found 2 jars of Dolmio pasta sauce at the back of the cupboard. They were out of date March, 2012. I am guessing that they will be ok to use but would appreciate a second opinion.

Personally, I'd still use them if they were dated March 2011.

Just listen for the noise when you remove the lid and give it a sniff.

Hi, I'd use them too.Infact I have used things far more out of date than that and survived. I think as long as they have remained sealed tins and jars can be kept for ages.

I would certainly still use them. Like others said, as long as they're sealed and don't look or smell odd when they are opened...can't see anything being wrong with them :)

Trying to live a good life on little money :T
