Charged for receiving picture message on 3

Sorry me again. I'm having a mobile phone queries day.

Just checked my 3 monthly bill and I've been charged 25p for a picture message. I haven't sent any pictures but a friend sent me one, so I'm assuming it costs 25p to receive a picture text?

That seems a bit steep when I didn't ask for it. Is this right?
:D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

My money is on you accidentally sending one - it could just be text, not a picture. Is it in your sent items on the day that the bill says you sent it?

Eek I just got my phone to check and now I can't unlock the keypad. I'm pressing the bottom left "function key" but it isn't responding. Panicking a bit now as it means phone is out of action except for incoming calls.

Anyone got any ideas what's gone wrong? It was working fine this morning.

It offered me a download of a better version of favourites this morning so I let it run and install that. Might that have boogered the keypad codes?

    Edit: It's a Nokia E63.

Damn I cleared it out on 20th June.

I'm sure I didn't send any photos as I am all too aware that sending one would cost, and I'm a bit tight like that. Also it's not a very good camera on this phone.

All I can think of is I did reply to my friend who sent me her pic, as a "reply" not a new message, so could that have sort of attached her original message including the pic, even if it didn't show on sending it?

Yeah, I bet that's what you did.. replying to a picture message sends it as a picture message I think..

Was going to say, that is how you may have got charged, but you worked that one out for yourself

The ironic thing is that I didn't even realise there was a pic attached to her first message until she replied to my reply, wondering why I hadn't mentioned it! :rotfl:.

I'll know next time to check!

Is it definitely a picture message or an MMS? some phones will send as an MMS if your text is too long, you may have sent a long text which has been converted, I think there was another post on here about this a few days ago.
