Booze free wannabee...support needed

End of day 3. No problems / pink elephants yet.

Talking of cheap beer...anyone who reads Viz will no the character "8 Ace", who gets lashed on cheap lager from his corner shop (8 cans for £1.49).

I've got a mate who loved the character, but when I told him that they did actually once sell Ace Lager up north, he didn't believe me, and still doesn't.

On the other hand, he did believe me when I told him that if you drank 10 pints of guiness and a big bowl of sweetcorn, your poo would come out looking like a bumblebee the next day

tried giving up wine on monday, was very good and just had apple juice, got bored on tues eve (nothing decent on telly)and have drank a bottle and half since then :rolleyes:

I read this thread earlier.....thought it was a great idea......so have just been down the pub to contemplate doing something similar!!

Day 11. It's not been a problem at all really, although there is that pang of "it's friday, I might nip out and get a bottle of wine on the way home from work". Guess I'll have a nice cup of tea instead.

I'm on the wagon at the mo, too; 6 weeks so far...I've just about gone through the whole of Tesco's range of fruit juices and mixers trying to concoct the ultimate non-alcoholic drink!

Day 12. I went out for some food with the missus and daughter last night and I was sorely tempted to have 'just one beer' but I didn't. It was very hard and I felt a bit petulant and sulky during the meal.

Why did I say I'd do this?

Oh maaaaaaaaannn...it was all going so well. Even when we went for a quick chinese meal and the waiter came with the drinks order full of beer and whiskey...I calmly informed him that is was for the table beside us...EVEN when he came round and told us it was last orders and any alcoholic drinks had to be ordered now...I just had a coke.

But we had a family indian meal last night...and I crumbled and had a beer.
