AVIVA Insurance deal - No vouchers - HELP

Hi - I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction.

I received the usual email from this site on the 28 April and in this one was a link to AVIVA - saying that if you followed the link you would get £60.00 M&S vouchers if you took out Building and contents insurance.

My insurance was up for renewal at the beginning of May so I folllowed the link and took out the insurance (Buildings and Contents).

No vouchers arrived, so I spoke to AVIVA today - they don't want to have anything to do with this and said it's not their problem. They said I should go back to this site and raise the issue here.

So - That's my issue - does anyone know how I should follow this up and how do I get my vouchers??

Thanks in advance

As that offer was only for using the special MSE link, maybe this question ought to be put directly to MSE admin for the answer. (Others have posted similar complaints)

    Hi Thanks for the reply.

I'm new to the forum (been receiving emails for quite a while), but only registered so I could post this on the forum for help.

Could you give me a bit more info on how to do that - much appreciated.

I did read not to send emails direct because they receive that many it takes ages to be looked at??

Maybe try a pm to one of the forum team. As this issue is MSE related, they will know who to pass it on to within the team that set up the deal with aviva.

    Well I'm absolutly gobsmacked.

I sent an email and this is the response I got back via email today :

"Unfortunately we can’t help with individual queries but please do post your question on the forum"

What on earth is going on - I followed a link created by MSE enticing me with £60.00 M&S vouchers if I took out the insurance.

I did that...... no vouchers arrive and now, both AVIVA AND MSE don't give a hoot that it appears to have been a con !!!!

......and here's me thinking that MSE should be a sound place to take guidance from.

Come on MSE some one tell me why I didn't get any vouchers and why did you advertise this fact.

Did you explain you followed the special MSE link, which aviva are reneging on? (Presumably there was a quid pro quo between them so you are right, this reply is disappointing).

This is what I sent in the email :

Hi - I am not sure if this is the right email adress to use, but I have an issue which I need looking at. I raised this on the forum and someone said to raise direct with MSE. I tried using the broken link email adress but that email just bounced back undelivered so I am trying this one.

It is connection with the AVIVA home Insurance Deal / £60.00 M&S vouchers.

I received the usual email on the 28th April and followed the link to AVIVA's insurance on the 29 April to take out the buildings and contents insurance with them
. I don't have any previous claims, so all should be great.

I took out the insurance and after many weeks nothing arrived by way of M&S vouchers, so I rang AVIVA and was told all is Ok the vouchers are on the way.

Still nothing came so I rang AVIVA again and explained everthing. The girl said they would look into it and call me back. I got a call the next day only to be told it wasn't their problem and as I had followed a MSE link I needed to report the issue to you.

So I am looking for guidance on how to obtain my £60.00 M&S vouchers, as I wouldn't have changed to them and took out Buildings and Contents but for the reward (which hasn't been forthcoming).

    Please can you help.

I'm really dissapointed that MSE appear to have washed their hands of this as well as AVIVA. Maybe I didn't word the email well, but I thought I mentioned their email and their link (see red text) - maybe I wasn't clear enough and assumed they would understand what I meant by receiving the usual email !!

I have now sent and email direct to Martin, but I realise he won't actually read it. I hope I get a reply from them as I don't know how else I can alert them to the fact that THEIR MSE deal didn't / doesn't exist - it's a con !!!!!!!

Well - I've just picked myself up off the floor to post this.

I have just received an email from the "martin" adress :

    Thanks for e-mailing MoneySavingExpert.com

This is an automatic reply that should help you deal with the issue – please carefully read the FAQ links below to answer your questions.

Sadly neither Martin nor the site are able to deal with personal MoneySaving questions, the site has 8 million users and we aren’t set up or able to give one-on-one help. Rest assured if we know the answer we put it on the site.

Just how on earth do you get a response on this site !!!!!!

Surely you can't send people a link and tell them to follow it, then go back on the deal !!!!

Maybe I need to speak to Trading Standards !!!

This is the link that was in the e-mail:

    http://www.aviva.co.uk/aff/home-insurance/?source=MSE1&entry=99013&CMP=BAL-NUD_AFF

It does look to be an affiliates link (note the "MSE1"), and it is surprising that no-one from MSE is prepared to assist you. In the past when this has happened, Martin has stepped in publicly with the firm concerned (his reputation is tarred with things like this).

    The email is here:

I think it's time to PM Martin and/or start a thread in the 'Site feedback' forum.
