parking near a junction

I like to use the rule of thumb of:
1. does my parked car cause a nuisance?
Unlike the million cars in our cul-de-sac... It appears that every household has 3+ cars (and long drives) but can't be a£^%d to park them out of the way... Being at the very cul of the sac, I have to do a 50 point turn to get in and out of my drive everyday... (no comments about my driving skills of lack thereof please!)0 -
Just worry about what will happen when a large lorry tries to squeeze past illegally parked cars. I saw a foreign driver
in wolverhampton destroy a nissan micra which was parked on a corner, he didnt even stop.
I have ripped a mirror and bumper off and damaged a wing, Under direction of a traffic copper. Did not need to give them
insurance details either. Copper sort of said its their own fault.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I find this hard to believe - if it is true, that copper wasn't fit to do his job."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Round my way cars are always parked round bends at T junctions, I think its a "should not" as apposed to "this is an illigal offence"0

It's always an offence to cause an obstruction when you park, irrespective of any lines/signs there. And if you park within 10 metres of a junction then you are causing "unnecessary obstruction".0

Not sure how this fits into the question but i thought i'd add it as an example of shades of grey.
My neighbours son had his car parked on a corner and half on the kerb.
An Asda delivery van reversed into it coming around said corner (was icy) and hit the car / pinned it into the garden wall.
The insurance for asda paid out without argument.
His "new/used" car is parked in the same place every day (old one was written off).
What makes it more odd/grey to me is that the previous neighbour did the same thing for years and then out of the blue got 3 parking tickets in the space of several weeks (had the money - didn't care).
Continued to park there and the tickets didn't happen again.
Seems to be a bit of a mess to me0 -

I would guess a.n.other neighbour reported hin to the council?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Always go by the highway code..... Just because you don't like something doesn't make it illegal.
Like this idiot I encountered last weekend.

If a parked car obstructs emergency vehicles thought they could be in for a very rough ride as I believe they're allowed to literally ram obstructing vehicles out of the way.
After explaining this to the offending individuals, they might actually change their habits.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

^^ Dunno, been told different things by different people... Which is why I say "I believe", because it makes sense in a real emergency“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
