    Too late, too late!!

I have already signed up for Npower.

Oh, four letter words! Trust me to choose the wrong one.

Anybody know how to cancel this before the end of the cooling off period?

Does it have to be in writing or can I phone to cancel

Its just a complete minefield at the moment - I think the only thing you can be sure on is that British Gas is normally the most expensive
  • I just received a cheque for almost £60 unexpectley from Atlantic, I have been with them for about 3-4 years now

Did you switch online? If so does it tell you in the confirmation email they sent you how to cancel?

That is often the case for Gas, but their Electricity prices are(and usually have been) pretty competitive.

In fact BG's 'Click Energy' tariff is one of the most competitive for both according to the comparison sites - although several people have reported problems with setting up the service.

That said they could well raise their prices, closer to their 'normal' tariff when they have a big enough customer base. However that is a favourite trick of lots of utility companies!

Well it's quicker to try by phone. You can then also establish whether you would be affected by this price rise - from what I've seen, it's not abundantly clear what is going to happen with this new SOL6 tariff.

As far as I'm aware, the rebate only applies if you pay by direct debit.
