I have 2 large clothes horses, the long type, I don't think the ones tht stack high actually dry clothes. I hang sheets/ quilts over the bannister & door frames and also have a clippy thing for undies which I hang from anywhere high up. I have hangers tht attach to radiators which i dry towels on or they get a musty smell.
to stop me using the TD i have a post it on it that says £1 per hour, electricity supplier said that this is the true cost of using it. believe me this works, I used to have it on for 5-6 hours some days:mad:
I havn't got the heating on yet but am really thinking of it, pouring buckets here in Scotland.0 -
Forgot to mention...my tumble dryer has been demoted to a spare shed up the end of our back garden after realising the running costs..have used it up there maybe a couple of times this year only..........0

It's funny you think you're the only one who doesn't iron and yet I see people on here who do the exact same thing! Someone asked how do you dry sheets and bedding. Sorry I can't remember who I've just caught up on the thread. The way I do it is to fold the bottom sheet in half and put it on one side of clothes horse, the duvet cover gets folded in half and draped on other side of clothes horse. I even drape my blanket over the clothes horse and it dries in a couple of days.

This is the clothes horse similar to the one I use.0 -
I have one of those airers that have four pieces that connect by plastic lugs which can be taken apart to make two lots of airers or into an over the bath airer. I also have one of those hangaway things that you hang stuff up on cost hangers. I use of one of those hanging things with lots of clips for socks and underwear which is hung off the sower rail in bathroom.
I do however tumble dry towels when they are three quarters dry and also my bed linen.
I have a line tied up on my balcony and have an over the bath airer outside too but i hate the smell of clothes dried outside, so only put clothes out for a little while to get the excess moisture out.And yes the lady in the avatar is me

Love to line dry if poss. Hubby laughs at me as I avidly watch the forecast and if there's the slightest hint of dry weather out it goes! If it gets wet I spin it again and then resort to the clothes horse until it's dry enough to iron. TD only to soften towels (when nearly dry) and if all else fails!0

outside as much as poss just to'lighten' them a bit then on the clothes horse and maybe finish off on the radiator when they are nearly dry.. you have to keep on top of the washing, if you let it build up then you are in trouble with the drying!! hanging all over the house springs to mind..0

We have storage heaters and you aren't supposed to hang washing over them ( i do sometimes ) so I have three maidens / clothes horse that are constantly on the go and bedding, towels and jeans get hung over the door. There are two adults, 1 four year old , 1 messy toddler and two step-children every weekends so we have loads of washing to do all the time. We have a washer/dryer brand new but they dryer is a waste of time as it sprays water in to steam dry the washing! so i can never just put something in the dryer for 10 mins.
Waste of money i will just get a washer next time.

We have one of those old lean-to conservatory things which is not nice to sit in but great for drying washing so I have a line up in there. It holds about 2 loads of washing so i try and do a load a day during winter so that each load has two days to get dry
