unfortunately Im looking at least £400 for my dog's treatment next week, thats just an average quote so far, Im waiting for the vet to ring with more details re cost. I have to stump up with the money first, then hopefully claim it back from the pet insurance.
Without the insurance, I would be in **** creek. But regardless of the cost, I would have to beg, steal or borrow to make sure she is ok. Things we do hey! ;)

i know what you mean, we once had to find money on a sunday morning for our yorkie to have emergency c/section. Luckily we were able to borrow it from my mum. Pet insurance is something I ahve never thought about.

Its not nice when having to borrow, but in such cases like our's, it has to be done. I currently use Mr T's pet insurance, it was the cheapest quote I got, as Pet Plan started becoming really expensive. Allthough it is the better one (in my opinion) as most vets deal with them directly, and saves customers paying out initially, but due to my budget, I couldn't afford their monthly payments!

:jGood news - my sister had her baby today at 12.40pm. A little girl weighing 3lb 14oz. She was 3 weeks early:j

Hope everyone is OK.Just waiting for DH to get home,he's dropped DS2 off,but had to see a man about a job. We're having pizza and salad for tea,so won't take long,DS2 has already had tuna salad.

I went into town to go on the fruit and veg market this morning, got all sorts including 3lbs of strawbs to make jam ,also picked up some cotton fabric for £1 yd,which will go in my sewing stash. The man was selling it cheap as there was only a bit left :j.Called at L!dl on the way home to pick up bread flour and yogurt, love their Greek yogurt :)

Came home, had an omelette, then made the jam,so I have 7 nice jars to put away.I'll probably make more yet though,to last us all year. Then I mowed the grass, did the edges, and watered the plants-the cucumber is doing really well, loads of flowers on it.

Right DH is back now,so better put tea on.Take care all x

Good Afternoon everyone - really late getting on here today!
CrazychicK - great news on the new niece!
Hilstep - huge ((HUGSS)) . I know just what you mean about everything dreadful happening at once. Do hope some help is around for your Dad.
Redruby - wish I could lose 1 lb, never mind 8!! You must be feeling really chuffed!
Have worked hard all day, washing and putting away crockery and pans, and finally, after months of finding excuses I have cleared out my larder floor! I found 27 bags-for -life lurking there, plus 4 hessian type bags. This morning I was at Mr T's and had no bags at all! I feel very virtuous at present.
Bought 2m of oilcloth from the market today for kitchen table - thought I needed 1.5m or thereabouts - didn't realise how wide it was - have two new cloths, one for the kitchen and as a bonus one which will fit the garden table for BBQs! Result!
DS was hoping to be discharged from hospital today, but the new drugs are not working properly and he's back on a drip, no solid food again. Hopes to be out tomorrow, but I'm not so sure. He's coming here to get a bit of energy back before he heads off to find B&B etc.Am praying that he has reached rock bottom now, because then things can only get better...
Moussaka with left over lamb tonight, then I'm off to the Rectory for Churchwardens' meeting. Will need pepermints, because I have a gin and cinzano in front of me right now - but I think I've earned it!!
Hope things are good for you all. Take care.

Crazychik - congratulations! one of mine was 3lb 14oz (5 weeks early)... he looked like a little skinned rabbit! he's 18 in a couple of weeks and 6' tall - you'd never imagine he was ever that tiny!

Just done my reports as I managed to fit two MS jobs in at lunchtime...boss wanted a sandwich so I got it on one of the jobs...he gave me the money for it and I'll get re-imbursed for it too - cant be bad :D
