Feeling a bit better today.
Spent some money today buying groceries etc and petrol, in the hope that I can have a NSD tomorrow.
Also, wanted the grocery shop to come in at under a tenner, so when I was at the till, I put a few things back that I didn't really need eg chocolate, so I totalled £8.82. :T0 -
Morning all, it's payday :j
This morning I paid £10 off one of my credit cards, £100 off another and £33 off my loan.
Total paid off: £143.
Not great on the NSD challenge, though reckon I can just make my target for August. Off the wagon spectacularly with £80 holiday shopping yesterday, but now have everything in that I need, so no major stress. But it's still a bit .
It just underlines that I've been feeling a bit out of sorts lately. I'm finding this tough, because it's so hard to stay on track. I think that's more a personal trait - once I fall off the wagon, I find it hard to shake myself off and get down to business again. But I'm doing ok.0 -
Have managed two NSD in a row :j.
And managed to lose 2 lbs for my holiday, but I wish it would stop raining so I could get on my bike and go for a proper cycle ride .
Rain rain go away, come again... NEVER0 -
The sun is tentatively shining in my part of the world this morning, so I'm going to attempt to cycle to work. Scary
.
However, I have done a debt busting thing this morning and when my Barclaycard payment had cleared, I went online and reduced the credit limit. That way, I won't be tempted to spend more. Feel good about this.

It's been a while since I last updated, and I am suitably ashamed of myself.
I'll start at the beginning, since it's a very good place to start. My lovely new job and various other factors meant I had much less time to update my DFW Diary. Days without typing an entry turned to weeks. I knew I needed a bit of a crutch to keep me on the straight and narrow, but I just simply didn't have time. Or couldn't make time.
So anyway, I wouldn't say that I fell off the wagon, cos I still managed to do a bit of debt busting in that time, but certainly it was a lot slower. I found that, with my increased time pressures, I was less able to plan my spending properly and ended up blowing quite a lot of money in Morrisons, Cafe Nerro or Starbucks. I was too tired to make my lunch the night before, too tired to do anything fun and I knew that it was a cycle that I was going to have to break. But I just kept spending. Then I had a couple of unexpected bills, like my car MOT, and a family member was in a bit of difficulty so we had them to stay, and I spent a fortune then.
But I'm back on the wagon, suitably ashamed of my wobble. And although I found it RIDICULOUSLY hard by myself, I did manage to tackle a bit of the debt. My new totals stand as follows:
Barclaycard - £3536
Natwest credit card - £291
Overdraft - £200
Loan - £321
Total debt: £4348
So, I'm back, and fully expect to receive my slap on the wrists.0 -
At least your debt hasn't gone up, and while it might not have gone down as quickly as you'd have liked it HAS still gone down!

Hi Ruby,
Thanks for the lift :j
You're absolutely right - at least the debt is going down, not up. But I just know that, in a month's time when I'm watching my pennies and feeling really frustrated that my debt is STILL hanging around, I'll curse the fact that for six weeks I spent like a demon and handed out about £20 a week on coffee. That's bad bad news.
Still, onwards and upwards. NSD today, aiming for another tomorrow. And I bought a jar of posh instant coffee for work to save some dough.

Morning all,
Have managed 3NSD in a row, which I'm quite pleased with. Didn't set a target for this month, because I didn't want to disappoint myself when I'd only just got back on the wagon. But next month, I think I'll aim for 14.
Payday this week, got to shell out a bit today on work stuff (parking) but hopefully can claim that back, and then blitzing debts tomorrow. Hopefully total will come down a bit too.
Hope everyone is well

Yay.
I've paid £100 off my barclaycard, £15 off my credit card and £33 off my loan.
I'm getting there. Baby steps.:j0 -
Well done, I find it so motivating to see totals coming down after payments like that!
