iPhone 4 at Tesco

I registered my interest with Tesco the other day, and over the weekend received an email from them saying that the iphone 4 would be in stock on Monday 5th, but in "limited numbers so hurry".

I have spent the last hour phoning around different stores, all via 0845 numbers and numerous options :mad:

ALL stores have said they have not had any yet.

I phoned Tesco directly and they said that a certain number of stores have them. So I phoned around again. Still no joy.

Tesco Mobile website is even saying that they are now available in store!

I phoned Tesco back and they apologised for the incorrect information on the website and email. They said even they do not have any stock to purchase, and that the stores would be getting them sometime in the near future, and that I'd have to keep trying.

I'm not sure how much I get charged for 0845 numbers, but this is a joke.

Anyone else had any luck with Tesco?

I've not had any luck with Tesco yet, my local store said they are getting some in this week and when asked if they'd have plenty they said "we're only getting 4" so I'm not about to rush over.

But for future reference try https://www.saynoto0870.com to get 01 numbers instead of 0845 , useful if you get free call time.

I've no luck either. It might be worth seeing if you can get yourself onto a waiting list at your local store(s) if they have one - any means to increase your chances of getting your hands on an iPhone.

Some iPhones were due into the country today but I would imagine they have gone to the "big three" - O2, Vodafone and Orange - plus Apple themselves will have needed some to fulfill orders. The next shipment is due on the 14th of July. Again, however, the likes of Apple already have customers waiting and it may be that none of those will reach retail outlets either. I have no idea when the next shipment is due in but they seem to be coming every 9-10 days.

Thanks for that, I didn't know about the "say no to 0870" website!

I've been put on a list at my local store now, but not holding my breath.

Out of interest, I reckon the 12 month deal is quite a good one. Is that why there is so much interest with Tesco? I know it's a lot up front, but a year old iPhone 4 would surely go for good money.

I have a shiny new one from Tesco Mobile direct and well pleased with it.

Although it was a rigmarole getting it.

As a new user I'm not allowed to post a link, but the Tesco Mobile website now says "currently out of stock" next to all iphone 4's - no surprise there

In at tescos NOW, they have already run out of 16 gb but have hundreds of 32s. I have given in and ordered a 32 couldnt wait anymore.
