Not happy today, stressed and want to sit and cry
Just remember Sal, you don't have to do anything. Pause, take a deep breath and if necessary just stay where you are for the moment.

Happy Birthday to Luc
I have to phone Tax Credits in a moment, hope they don't ask for anything back! Changed jobs halfway through the year you see.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Afternoon. I had a call from social services saying that my case was about to be closed, so I've begged for another two weeks to get all the receipts in and the financial assessment to be changed - I just can't afford the £140 a month they want me to contribute, especially since that's more than the carer costs, so I'd have to use an agency where it'd be that much a week. I've just itemised everything with an explanation why I need it, but they're arguing against some things. I just hope there's an appeal process. I mean, how can using plastic cutlery/paper plates not be down to my disability?
Sorry to rant.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Ames - that really doesn't make sense. I wonder if it's because of the budget cuts they're being this mean?
Red - have you checked out the special occasions board? They may have more knowledge than us over what's the best one to buy. You're probably better off buying a second hand one; a good place to lotok might be a company who repairs/services them.
I'll be glad when it's home time, I'm starving and looking forward to my tea, smoked fish with a selection of vegetables. :j:j0 -
Cheers LMC and Beanie. I've had to fight from the very start to get help, it's just another obstacle their throwing at me. I've emailed them, I'll send the receipts in and then find out how to appeal. I'll contact MIND if I have to, or anyone else I can think of.
Squizz, will you definitely use a sewing machine enough to buy one? There's a cafe up the road from me that rents them out at a fiver an hour, including free tea or coffee, might be worth looking into something like that before you commit to buying?
Well I'm now consoling myself with strawberries and cream, yum. But the cream was on offer so I have a carton spare, I guess I'll just have to get more berries when I do the shopping tomorrow!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Last teaching session of the academic year :j:j:j
It has been a bloody log slog since September and whilst the money helps each month (I clear around £100 a month when I have teaching) the hours and hours of unpaid prep. work make it almost like working at a loss.
I'd celebrate but it will have to be water as I'm on a diet!
