Has anyone got anything bad to say about Atlantic? I have just got into this site this week and need to start getting these things sorted...I have poor service from British Gas, so don't want to swap to another company with poor CS for the sake of a £20 saving.
  • What's happened to Atlantic's web site today? When I try to go to https://www.atlanticeg.com I am asked for a username and password  Hope their gas supply is more reliable than their web site!

I switched to Atlantic about 6 months ago - just received my first bill and the company logo says Scottish Hydro Electric. There is no mention that my account is with Atlantic, although I am aware that Atlantic is part of Scottish and Southern. So who are Scottish Hydro Electric. Does any one know?

Scottish Hydro and Atlantic are both suppliers within the Scottish & Southern Electric Group, along with a few others.

I switched to Atlantic and Atantic is the header on my bill. If you have Scottish Hydro on your bill, it would appear you have switched to them. I think the tariffs will probably be similar (I was doing a search for my cheapest, and Atlantic were at the top, with Scottish Hydro a couple down I think), but it might be worth going to one of the comparison websites with your details to see.
Indecision is the key to flexibility :)

Yes, they badly underestimated our electricity monthly payments, so we now are paying £80 a month to catch up with the money we owe them.

Technically, I should have noticed before, but it we relied on their estimation of how much we should give them a month...
  • My first post !
I to am thinking of switching to Atlantic. I switched to nPower in April / May and since I switch it's gone up twice now costing a whopping 43% more than it did when i signed up. What I want to know is does anyone really know if Atlantic are likely to raise their prices again because I can save about £150 by switching to them but if they increase their prices by anything more than 15% I'll end up worse off than I am now.
Also, was that way too long for my first post ???

according to the letter i received from atlantic along with details of their price rise in june they guarantee not to increase prices again in 2006 - so it probably means prices up on jan 1st!
  • Guess I'll just bite the bullet and switch to Atlantic then - if it goes up early next year I'll just have to check out more prices. Now, off to the highest cashback site !
