I'm thinking of switching to Atlantic as I'll save a wopping £232 per year. As I've never heard of them can anyone tell me what they are like to switch to and what their Customer Service is like? :)

Thanks!

been with them 3 years - generally good cs and online service allows you to input your own meter readings and get bill thro post in a few days - their tarriff includes a rebate of 1 months dd when you have been with them a year - first couple of years it came automatically when it was supposed too but last couple have taken a bit of chasing by me so you have to remember when the anniversary of your contract is and remind them to pay rebate

I switched to them for a little while and my bills doubled. I've gone back to British Gas now.

Been with Atlantic for five years. During the last price hike the uswitch.com come up with N Power being slightly better for me. So I started the switch in March and got a letter from N power on the 3rd July saying thanks for switching we aim to switch you within the next 28 days (that's nearly four months later!!! "What planet are they working from" I quickly realised that in this case Atlantic were much more efficient with their customers and realised the small cost was worth not having any more hassle and have gone back to Atlantic who made life very easy for me:j :j
Why is it so difficult to switch suppliers in this modern age........ It's easier to switch bank accounts and that is saying something. I know we are all encouraged to switch but you hear time and time again how X company have messed up the simple switching service. I am sure that many will come back and say "It worked fine for me" but equally you pick up the daily paper and theres so many stories of utility companies cocking up:mad:

  • Atlantic are ok - been with them a couple of years. All companies are leapfrogging with rate increases, can't see the point of swopping every other month. Like has been said, at the end of each complete year Atlantic credit your bank account with one months equivelant payment, always supposing you pay monthly by dd - go on - give 'em a whirl, in effect you get 12 months power and pay only for 11 !!

Thanks for the input everyone, I think I'll give them a go, it's been over a year since I last switched, which is enough for me, can't see the point in doing it every few months. I think now is also the time whilst I'm still in credit with my current provider, I can see it being a pain in a few months when the account goes in the red with the higher useage! ;)
