jellyhead wrote:they are sainsburys specific. they say sainsburys magazine on the back, and the coupon says 'sainsburys' too. they wouldn't get past a till assistant i shouldn't think, unless that store had a policy of accepting other coupons. they would go through a self scan though.
I find these coupons get past Tesco cashiers most days, many of them seem happy to accept anything that will scan.
Not so sure that they would be accepted at Waitrose though, if it's like my local they are very friendly but (quite rightly really!) scrutinise every coupon and enter them manually. Nice for a change and some quality food for once though!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yeah, if you present them barcode side up, they very rarely turn them over so they slip through a treat!0 -

I have had some go through at Waitrose too ... but also the SA's are more inclined to read them & reject ... worth a try but don't count on it!LittleBill ... "The riches of a man can be measured by what he can do without"0 -
jellyhead wrote:so jealous of you all being able to use these coupons lol! my tesco takes one coupon if it's less than 10% of the shopping, and asda takes 10% of the shopping. that's tills or self scan, but i relaxed my morals this week and put a sainsburys £1 off wine coupon from the mag into the asda self scan yesterday so i suppose i could get 10% off each shop with sainsburys coupons if i was crafty but in both stores they watch like hawks and you can only put ten items through the self scan at a time. and the coupin has to be for £1 or less or the till beeps for the assistant.
10% is 10% though, quite a bonus!
Although the checkout assistants will tell you that you can only use coupons up to 10% of your shopping if you have not bought the product. You will find that on Tesco's self scan that these coupons will scan without any problem until you exceed 25% of your shopping. If you go over 25% then Authorisation will be required and a checkout monitor will come over and may well open up the coupon box and check what you have put in it._pale_ If they are Asda/Sainsbury etc ones then they will all get taken off again. Therefore do your maths and keep under 25%.:D
IF THIS POST HAS BEEN HELPFUL - PLEASE CLICK ON THANKS :j0 -
the self checkouts at tesco are set to call for a cashier if you put 3 coupons in too, even if they are tesco coupons. so i have to do the health and beauty transactions on the tills. my tesco scrutinise all non-tesco coupons. they always say it's because the students take the mick with using too many coupons, or ones they shouldn't. how very dare they :rotfl:52% tight0

i'm not as brave as you lot with using coupons because i have relatives working in asda and tesco and i don't want to embarass them by getting my photo on the wall of dubious-customer fame
i found that the asda selfcheckout will call for a supervisor if you exceed £5 in coupons, but i don't know if that's a local thing. the assistants themselves watch for more than a ten percent coupon usage too. i'll just take the ten percent and be grateful i suppose. am i the only one who feels gutted if i go shopping and don't have any coupons? :rotfl:52% tight0 -
katierose wrote:Can anyone confirm if the £10 off coupon for the eye test at asda scans at Tesco's please.
Tried it today, but no young SA's around an old granny spotted it & then proceeded to cancel the other asda ones I'd put thru'..
Won't give up tho',will try it with a younger SA & hide it in amongst the others..
BTW the fosters twist voucher in todays sun is not accepted by tescos."I took her to a supermarket,I don't know why but I had to start it somewhere" :cool:0 -

Free Shopper Bag ... mine is turquoise ... I hope thats how you spell it! ... handy ... you could even earn Tesco Green Points on it!
No apparent vouchers in mag ...
Recipes look lovely though!
