You may have to physically move the box to a different room to view without multi room.

Sky have been sneaky with their new cards and each card is now paired to the box, it used to be a case (with the old blue cards) that you could just switch the card to another box, but on doing so now you are faced with a screen that says insert correct card for viewing movie channels etc... but also at the same time, programs that have been recorded on the box that has no card paired with it, you will no longer be able to view. Unless you wish sky to pair the already paired HD card to the normal + box, but then you will have the problem of having it paired again when you move it back to the HD box.

This is nothing new, Sky digital cards have always been paired to the box for premium channels.

It wasn't until the new white cards came out that I had the problem. I was able to move the blue card between boxes and watch any program, but then I never sub'd to movies or sports. Recorded programs weren't an issue then either.

I tried the magic eye approach, but after trying 3 of them I gave up as they didn't work for me.

Another alternative is simply watch your recorded programs when your can watch whilst wife isn't watching tv. An inconvenience if you wanna watch sport I know (you'll know the scores before watching the games), or vice versa.
    Less hassle and expense.

    .

Magic eyes work all the time, every time. Just needs the RF power turned on and the quality of the connections must perfect.
