Just had to do an emergency sainsburys run as DH half way through cooking dinner and we'd run out of garlic! In rather a lot of pain now after walking there and back but sure it will do me good!

jojo - great news, enjoy it!

DH has had a bit of a tidy up and put the recycling out, taken the pushchair box to the big recycling bin, emptied the bins and hung the washing up. I have moved baby stuff from the wardrobe to the changing table and neatly stacked everything else in the cot. I now have my feet up til dinner is served :D

More shirts than I've managed to iron for [cough] about a year. :D

    Evening everyone

Just got in from work been a long one today :(

So you can probably guess my house looks pretty much the same as it did at 6 this morning but at least it hasn't got any worse :)

I did make a lovely pasta and veg dish for my lunch today which is most unlike me, normally I am an expensive Costa girl :T. Having said that I did have to take some cakes and croissants to my customer today which I bought from the supermarket mmmm must do better.

Tonight need to empty the dishwasher and think about lunch again tomorrow as it will be another long day. (Maybe I will just think about it and head to the cafe instead:) )

Ill catch up later to let you all know the things I haven't done! So much for all that weekend energy

well done lisa26 - you have both done well for your first day - after a couple of weeks you will see a difference and especially with OH helping - :T:T:T:T:T

longtermlurker - you have ironed 3 shirts - and I bet there was other things as well that got done?????????? none of us are cut out for this - we either do it and feel great about our surroundings - or we dont and either get someone else to do it or live in a tip. Now i am quite sure you do not want to let things get any worse so join me now for 10 minutes and do something in the livingroom - clear a chair, or a sofa,or clear some clutter of the floor or the mantlepiece and hoover or dust that bit - we call it dot2dot - pick one small bit of the room - totally clear it and clean it. the trick is to keep that 'dot' clear and tidy and then do another 'dot' - doesnt have to be today but soon you can join them all up and have a tidy room.

so are you ready, steady go............................

see you at 7 and post what you have done .
    toots xx

long time.. in the last 17 months I have ironed.. 1 shirt... and NOTHING else!! that was for OH when we were going to my cousins 40th in April.

DS2 has just been instructed in the use of the WM.. lazy little !!!!!!..

The children are tasked with cleaning the front room and middle room before they go to bed.. I don't get paid enough to clean up after them... plus I can't reach the floor!

    Kitchen is swept :D

LTL : that's more ironing than I've done today! There are days when it feels like you haven't done anything, but I bet you've done more than you think. Like someone very wise :p has already said, start with one small spot, and deal with all the gibble, and if you keep at it, one little spot at a time, soon enough the room - and then eventually the house - will be tidy, clean, and everything will have a home. I've been flying for a while now, and I have some good days, and (mostly) not so good days, but the general trend is for improvement - and you will get there too!!

Don't beat yourself up about the things you haven't done. Give yourself a HUGE pat on the back for the things that you have done. Like husbands and puppies, flyladies respond to positive praise much better than a rolled up pile of newspaper/gibble :D:cool:

  • Thank you all. Was having a moment of self pity:o Dh has been away and I suppose I wanted it perfect for when he got back andit isn't. Looking round it is better than when he went so hopefully he will notice.
I have a lot of crap in my life at the moment and I'm hoping by the time the crap in my life is sorted the crap in my house will be as well.

Toots thanks again for the kick up the bum. I did the bookcase for 10 minutes and you can now actually see the books on it:eek:

Jojo, pigpen and onestep Thanks for not ironing it makes me feel better about the bit I managed ;)

In my 10-15 min challenge I....

    had a wee!
cleared the junk off my leather recliner
cleaned the recliner and put leather wipes back in the cupboard
sorted through the clutter from the chair and put away, shredded, some of it - other bits got added to the 'IN' pile on my desk.
put books back on the book shelves
put the directories back where they belong
straightened the cushions on the (empty) sofa!
found my glasses in the gibble!
filled up all my tealight holders and lit one for a lovely smelly wax tart to keep me going!

not a lot but it all counts!
so how did you do longterm?
