How many units of Electricity are you using a day?
and what do you have on 24/7?
Our average has been 21 units a day - which seems high.
Any thoughts on the appliances we run would be appreciated
We don't have an electric water heater the oven is on maybe 5 or 6 times a week for an hour or so. We run 2 undercounter fridges, which are maybe 7 year old, but were A rated when new. Dishwasher goes on every other day, same with the washer (just changed to AAA new one). We have a large plasma TV, probably on 10 hrs daily. I have desk top PC, which is usually on 8 hrs a day. Daughter has a lap top on about 4 hrs daily. Just ditched very old freezer for an A+ Upright. Plus 3 hard drive recorders on standby.

I use 3 - 4 units a day.
I live on my own in a 3 bedroomed house, don't have a dishwasher, tumble-drier or TV, dvd player.
My consumption is slightly up in summer as I use the electric shower rather than use the gas to heat water for a bath.
My last electricity bill was £52 for a quarter. £4 a week or £200 a year is about my average.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

It certainly throws enough heat out to keep you warm in winter, so guess it does use a lot. I've got some of those Lidl monitors, which we have dragged out of a drawer to find out how much they are using. TV is the next one to get monitored. Problem is its got a hard drive in it, so if we want to record, its got to be left on standby.0 -
I use about 60 units a day. (Sometimes more)
Live alone, but work from home and have A/C, needed to cool the multiple computers I use to carry out my work. Also, I use an ASHP for my hot water so I'm not consuming gas for any sort of heating.
Oh and one of my hobbies is breeding tropical fish, so I have 6 * 4 foot fish tanks running - all heated and lit for 12 hours a day.0 -

Single person, 3 bed detached bungalow. At the moment I'm using 3 to 6 a day depending if I have the immersion heater on. In winter I average about 12 to 15 units (includes heating via ASHP)0

We use on average approx 220 units per day. I dont think it is really expensive for all the convenience you get from electricity, so I dont mind paying for what I use. Im sure we could probably cut down our usage if we wanted to, but im not fussed really. Should think about the planet though0

emmaur1, 220 units per day??? Are you running a smelting plant?? Surely you mean 22 units.
I have various PCs,TVs running most of the day since I took early retirement,a power shower that we both use every day,I have a dishwasher which we use every day, washing machine probably averaging once a day use, and 3 fridge /freezers of varying efficiencies - I'm only using 19 units per day!!0 -
3 bed house used 26 units 29/6/10-5/7/10 though we were away for 2 days. Use even less gas.0

Currently with Scottish Power, checked on their online thingy and it shows I'm using 19 per day for Electricity and 34 per day for gas.
Never knew you could see that level of detail...cool!
