Ditto. I've tried and it's fine. It simply times your boot process and tells you which processes takes what time. Having Soluto installed or not installed makes no difference. Then reinstall Soluto and you will find your back where you started unless your talking about removing software other than by using Soluto programme.
 Believe me I tried it.0

 Garbage.
Soluto loads at each boot with a recorded time so must make a difference.

( The problem with it is that it also takes up a lot of resources on the computer and to be honest it was delaying my startup more than anything else on my computer.)0

Surely it just measures boot time every time, so you can tweak it and check again to see what difference a tweak makes. Then you uninstall it and your tweaks persist?
Haven't felt the need to install (laptop gets rebooted a handful of times a month, server stays on 24/7, HTPC wakes up in seconds) so maybe it works in a really stupid way. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

Ah, so it's not quite the same as bootvis then. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

This is garbage. Prove to me uninstalling Soluto negates the changes you've made when uninstalling other software which may be delaying boot.Garbage.

This is correct.weegie.geek wrote: »Surely it just measures boot time every time, so you can tweak it and check again to see what difference a tweak makes. Then you uninstall it and your tweaks persist?0

Contacted Soluto headquarters Tel Aviv, ISR and they replied as follows:

 Hi,
Uninstalling Soluto will revert all changes back to their original settings, this is how we can guarantee everything is reversible.
Soluto uses its own mechanism to pause and delay applications, which means that once you pause a program Soluto takes over from Windows, and if you uninstall that mechanism will no longer work.

Well of course it does. I don't dispute that.Contacted Soluto headquarters Tel Aviv, ISR and they replied as follows:

What I was saying was if you run Soluto, it tells you program X is taking Y seconds, you then unininstall this and Soluto, then your PC will still boot up faster. I read you replies to disagree with this.0

Thanks dave, my start up is hellishly slow, or it seems it when I desperate to do some urgent work. Im a techno dumbo but Ive had a go and its now halved my start up time. It gave a list of items which could potentially be removed or delayed from starting up and I chose those I was absolutely sure wouldnt be a problem. Some items I dont even know what they are but I left those. Using delayed, my kaspersky and HP imagining and MS media comes up after the start up, before I connect to my ISP, which is fine as far as I know . Original start up time 2 minutes 10 seconds. After analysing and actioning, start up 1 minute 5 seconds0

Ive just realised you can right click on the icon in your tray and remove the ticked Live Boot Progress so it doesnt happen every time you start up? Is that correct please?0
