You're an inspiration to us all missus

Have subscribed & will catch up on the whole thread later

By the way - Mum's money has paid off all but 1 debt, we have £10K in savings (& that will stay there) & we've also bought a couple of necessary big purchases cash - I told you I wouldn't waste her money

Yeah I too am annoyed that double scratch on a Sunday has gone - recession I guess:)

No run, no up at an ungodly hour - but have lay in bed and 'thought' about all the things I could/should be doing! Seems we are both behaving to type!

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

Hypno, happy new diary (it took my brain a day to process "I wonder why there isn't much activity on Hypno's thread" through to "Oh, better check what the new one's called".

You are an inspiration and also such a positive voice for other diarists. You also inspired me to try and help a despairing poster.

I feel like a "bit" of a fraudster as I'm not in debt (except for a v.small amount left of mortgage), but I was debt-laden and despairing when my marriage broke up 12 years ago. I wish I'd had the support of MSE then. I'm determined never to go there again, and my frugal attitude is starting to rub off on my new husband.

I wonder (but it's a very nosy wonder) whether your ex is looking at the slimline well dressed well coifed Hypno with new eyes?

    Hugs

With regard to 'doing OK' and 'doing really well', I think the only difference is perception: you ARE doing REALLY well, but you don't see it as such as you are always aiming for higher. The only problem is that every time you hit your goal, you move the goalposts and want to aim higher, which is fine, but you don't see the markers of all the goals you have scored along the way.

    Really, really good point, Pickle.

:rotfl::rotfl:I too have laid in bed and thought lots!! I redecorated my room and rearranged all my furniture in my head. My room looks great or will some day! (lilac walls, redone white cupboard, white shelves, varnished wardrobe, repainted CD racks, I wanted to do the floorboards but I am fairly sure I can't get the carpet up on my own and our house is too small to move all the furniture out)

any how I will now have breakfast after all that strenuous thinking!

    Nevertheless she persisted.
