I wasn't there, so I don't know who did what, but essentially it is a team event, and they all have to take the consequences - not much fun, as the powers that be take discipline and sportsmanship very seriously, which is fair enough, so the mother who stepped in my shoes as "team manager" this weekend had to go before a Jury this morning!

Oh believe me, I have been furious since I got the phone call yesterday evening.....and I slept very little as a result. Had he come home this morning, he would probably wish he hadn't!
However, because I wasn't actually there, and have relied on others to deal with it, and it has been dealt with appropriately from what I gather, there is little point in me laying into him. As I say, the punishment of no snow training will be devastating for him, nothing I say will top that really, and sometimes "the look of disappointment" from a mother is more effective than a tirade of cross words!
Also, because I wasn't there, I don't know how much is one blaming another, how much involvement each had, who was the ringleader etc, and there is no point in me getting involved in "he started it" type stuff when I can't offer a reasonable point of view.
Still, Tesco's delivered me a large bottle of gin and some diddy cans of tonic water.....oh, and some lemons and limes. Hmm, not so sure - had I been there, I know for a fact that DS wouldn't have gotten involved in any way shape or form - he wouldn't have dared.
So even if the others had decided to proceed, I am pretty sure that he would have protected his position, even if it did mean him "letting down his mates".....

No, you are right, but equally he didn't do anything to stop it and to distance himself from it.
I know peer pressure is a very strong thing, and that things that seem like a good idea to a bunch of 15 year old boys are not necessarily the same as those things that are a good idea to an adult, but really these guys should have known better, one way or another.....especially as they know that discipline and sportsmanship is a key thing for the organisers and selectors.
Still.....I hope not to be spending my evening in some sort of shouting match with him. I am trying to be positive, remember
