Well, that sounds more like what you've said of your DS. I'm glad you're satisfied with what he and the parents who were travelling have said .... but the after effects will be long, of course. G&T for the immediate trauma, of course. Hope you can sleep tonight .

I admire your restraint, but pity you had to endure being so cross that it interupted your sleep :( (though I know it doesn't take much to do that)

    Enjoy the G&T's  x

I think that was why I was so cross last night, because the version of events I was initially given was so against everything that I thought DS stood for, and I was so angry that as a result of it he was throwing away the things he has worked so hard for and enjoys so much.

What I have heard since, makes much more sense to me - don't get me wrong, DS is not a perfect child (I would worry if he was!) and I don't want to sound like one of those *precious* mums saying "my boy wouldn't do that", but the second version of events lays the blame firmly elsewhere, with certain things having been blown out of all proportion. DS also said that the head coach had a word with him this afternoon saying that he knew it wasn't his doing. Whether that is enough to allow him to still be considered for selection is another matter, but that is out of my hands.

It is such a shame that it happened in that way, but at least I am comfortable in my own mind about his involvement.

    Now, about that G&T......

I know it sound as a 'blanket ban'. but if he was a straggler etc., maybe there are grounds for appeal? Some commitees etc do just ban everyone without taking into account the situation, so maybe there are rights to appeal etc.. Hope things work out OK Hypno. I know young adults have to learn the consequences of their actions, but even as adults we shouldn't have to accept the responsibility of everyone else all the time.

Only you and he know the exact circumstances, but you shouldn't rule things out without investigating fully unless you are totally sure and maybe with legal advice, especially if DS is looking at this as his future career, as gaps in CV need explaining.

Anyway, back from house hunting/holiday,not found one but managed to get a little holiday out of the house hunting. Managed to find lots of near misses. Amazingly good weather :) Admittedly with lots of government changes wondering if the future is non-uk for our sons and their potential offspring with the university and other tax changes. I know they say they want to bring brains to the UK, but some of these changes are likely to drive people away.

Life is all over the place at the moment here, but some things don't change :)

Back in the Netherlands, OH is upgraded on hotel loyalty scheme, so we have free happy hour :D well, 3 hours!!!! But when trying to lose weight not so good :o Not exactly healthy eating either.

Anyway Hypno, sometimes it's just when you think things are going relatively smoothyly that something messies things up, going through a similar patch at the moment, well it's mega highs and lows at the moment!!!

Hope things get sorted for you and ds soon Hypno.
