Oh dear that doesn't sound good...sending you some hugs xxx0

Thanks! Basically the school ski team have behaved disgracefully and "will not be invited to partake in any future races".......I am furious, as you can guess, and I don't think any of the kids are looking forward to coming home and/or going to face the head at school tomorrow!
So DS can also kiss goodbye to selection for the National squad too.....
Like I say, am bloody furious as I cannot believe they have put themselves in such a position :mad:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Oh dear.
Well, they brought it (mostly) upon themselves. There will be the usual ringleaders and the sheep - it will be a learning experience to teach them to not be either.
It will also teach that actions - and often inactions - have consequences both for yourself and others. A kick in the back end is often the least of these.

Am not surprised your furious....all the time and effort and money you have sacrificed to send him skiing for this to happen regardless of whether he or others are to blame.I feel sorry for your son when he gets back if it was him but also feel sorry for him if he wasn't involved.0

Sorry to hear this, Hypno - and can understand you being upset. But it is very likely your son is even more upset adn could not do much to prevent the events. Any other way to get where he want to be?

I can sympathise Hypno - its not a good position to be in but they will all learn - DS was in a similar position earlier in the year (not skiing) when he was in the USA. He was actually tucked up in bed on campus and the rest of the UK students had gone clubbing (strictly against orders) and got into a fight - Police involved and everyone had to give statements. Doubtful now whether they will be invited back next year! He is gutted as they wanted him to go back as a leader even though he has graduated and through the actions of some he may well have lost that opportunity.0

Hugs from me too - if he wasn't involved I hope it gets resolved. If he was, hopefully he'll learn a lesson and think twice next time. Children!!! xx0

I wasn't there, so I don't know who did what, but essentially it is a team event, and they all have to take the consequences - not much fun, as the powers that be take discipline and sportsmanship very seriously, which is fair enough, so the mother who stepped in my shoes as "team manager" this weekend had to go before a Jury this morning! As I say, not much fun, but the boys will take the consequences and for DS the fact he cannot take part in any further competition or squad training will be punishment enough for him. He doesn't need me to go off on one when he gets home. I am disappointed, of course I am, but it is him (and the rest) who will suffer from whatever they have done, and they will jolly well learn for the future.
He can do other races, where he enters for the club, or as an individual, but those boys have lost a lot of respect from what I gather which they have got to earn back over the next few months.....and whether I really want to be devoting so much time, effort and money to it, well we shall see.......I expect DS to be on his best behaviour for the forseeable future!
It is all a learning curve, and I, along with the other parents, have to deal with it in an appropriately dignified manner, yet with the kids knowing that we respect the decision and the punishment that has been handed to them.
