Ah that's quality! Never had a cleaner who put chocs on pillow, not even xmas coins never mind Lindt!

Today i have scrubbed an oven shelf to new gleamyness and picked damsons, pricked them and layered with sugar in large jar before drowning in cheap gin. Have been told this will produce damson gin for xmas. We'll see. All this is displacement activity for packing for our holiday in France starting on Thursday. Cue frantic last minute washing and ironing tomorrow.

    Night all.

So.....10ps only on scratches and nothing unexpected to report in banking.

Storecupboard dinner tonight will be a chili - will try and make double quantities by adding bulghar wheat etc so that there is another meal in the freezer for another day. Have all the ingredients so no need to spend there.

As mentioned yesterday, I have a grocery budget of £90 until 23rd September. I think this is the lowest budget we have had for some time, so it will be a challenge, but with the children on board I am hoping we can do it. In a strange way, I am looking forward to it in order to prove a point to myself!

So.....off to make jam sandwiches for lunch :D

Oh I will, lucielle. We have plenty of things like jam, honey and peanut butter in the cupboard so I am very reluctant to buy ham etc until they are eaten. We all like that sort of thing anyway, so it is no hardship really to be on jam sandwiches for a while!

I've not got masses in the freezer but I do have enough for some stretching.......eg lamb mince for shepherds pie, chicken legs that will make a big casserole in the slow cooker.....all things that can have something extra added to them to make them go a bit further.

If nothing else, these next few weeks will focus my mind on what is necessary and what isn't. And that won't do any of us here any harm at all.
