Red, if you are reading that diary, you will know just how crap it all was for me just a few short years ago.....and how much it has changed in that time. There were times that I couldn't see the way forward, and times where I really didn't know where the next meal was coming from, Peter was always being robbed, to keep Paul at bay, and I wasn't great friends with either of them!
But, it DOES improve - all those little bits of effort, all those days when I didn't give in, etc etc etc all add up to a much improved financial situation.
So, stay strong, don't give in, and you too will get there xxx
Pippa, your bite really does sound horrific. I have a small bite on my knee right now and I am monitoring it closely, having read of your pain!
Beanie - dentist is open until 8 Mon-Thurs.....makes it a whole lot easier for people like me who work 8-6 as a dentist appt during the day can take me out of the office for several hours which is not ideal as far as employers are concerned!
So.....student deposited, Dentist visited, Sainsbury whizzed round, and now home with a ready meal in the microwave. Oh how glam!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I guess I thought before reading it 'this woman has it sussed', now I know your education has come through experience and that does give me hope and in 2013 I will be where you are now and 'educated'.
Funny how we are so damn hard on ourselves and worry constantly............it is exhausting now but I think, from what I have learned here, it does become less draining and more a way of life/manageable.
I especially loved that you never put up an SOA because it just showed that you couldnt do it.............when in fact you could/did/are doing it. Right now I cant budget for food/diesel etc because I need to pay bills but we do get by, just. We dont have any credit cards now, just the debt from them!
However you never missed a payment, I have missed many but at least now they are a few days late and not a month or more. And hopefully this month is the last time that will happen.
It is funny reading about your kids, because I have only 'known' them as young adults not little people starting big school - (just got to Sept 07) They are a credit to you!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

We did have plenty of late payments prior to me joining MSE, but managed to get by without actually missing any for more than a few days or so. However, we were almost always over our o/d limits and had many many charges for that......in fact, it was reclaiming charges way back in 2006 that lead me to MSE in the first place - I claimed back over £3000 from Halifax, and had a claim in for over £4000 from Barclays, so that gives you an idea of how bad it was!
Since starting my diaries, though, I have got on top of it, and have only had one charge in the last couple of years which was for a stupid error that I should have spotted myself......so things do change for the better!
Beanie - I went into Sainsburys for bread, and came out £49 lighter
P - evening to you too!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Pippajo - When I have bad reactions, I couldn't bend elbows or knees because of insect bites at times. Admittedly they only swell up, the only one I talked to a doctor about was the Lincolnshire one, which didn't swell up, but wasn't normal for me, but it did look more manky
But at a point when you have too many bites feeling too bad, it does sap the energy, well it does for me.
Hope you feel better soon, do keep in touch with the doctor.
I'm trying the Avon so soft, which is supposedly very good, as a mossie prevention.0 -
LOL I know all about Barclays - I didn't go to bed until they put a hold on it - I was furious, you seemed to get so very close.............barstewarts!
How is the grocery challenge going............I have spent £70 so £30 left (when I find £30) til month end but so running out of so many things - next month will be more expensive.

Hmmm, grocery shop has used up the last of my envelope money. So as long as I get nothing else, I will be ok, but there is no more money available to me. I have 85p in the bank, and no overdraft facility any more (didn't want the temptation) so what we have is what we have!
