What a great idea. Hope the run goes well - Having sprained a ligament in my knee (and being rubbish at running!) I will be with you in spirit......0

Thank you TDQ :T I hope your knee heals soon.
As for being rubbish at running - I could never be described as an athlete, but when I make the effort and actually get out there, I do enjoy it and it is great for clearing my head!
Unfortunately, I often have months or even years between those periods of "making an effort"Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Wow, get you doing a half marathon just weeks after starting running again. You are superwoman! And what a lovely idea to do it for Taxi.
I am taking part in a 100-mile marathon in September, as part of a team. We each run four or five legs of average 5 miles each, so I will run 20 miles but not all in one go. I'm really looking forward to it.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
The team thing sounds fab! Is it like a relay, and over what time period are you running?
I am part way through a marathon of another sort.....sorting out my wardrobe.....it is a tad chaotic, I have to say, but by the time I have finished, it will be ordered and beautiful. Yes it's a relay. We aim to do the 100 miles within 12 hours I think (I am hazy about the details). We run in teams, being shuttled between our legs by car. The route is along the South Downs, so lots and lots of ups and downs.
Good luck with the wardrobe sort. It wouldn't take very long to sort mine!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Good luck with the wardrobe sort. It wouldn't take very long to sort mine!
It is not the huge amount of designer wear (!) that takes up the space in mine, and which causes the need to sort, but the fact that a big built in wardrobe becomes a bit like a cupboard under the stairs - one of those "ideal" places to chuck stuff that you have no idea what else to do with!
I have been working on it for a while and am just about done.....more stuff for the bin, more stuff for the charity shop, and my clothes are folded and hanging just as they should be, rather than falling off hangers and getting lost amongst the stuff that should never have been there in the first place
A few more mins should do it and then I will be stopping for a coffee before deciding what similarly scary task to do next......could be the airing cupboard :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I LOVE sorting wardrobes and in my ideal world would declutter dressing rooms/wardrobes & drawers for a living.
Not matter what else is chaotic my drawers (oh err) and wardrobe are always perfect - I have all trousers/skirts/tops etc in sections and then colour order - love love love it! Although will tell you that I have never been able to do that 'if you haven't worn in 6 mths bin it' thing. EG my size 12 jeans will never leave and I can't tell you when I last wore them. Plus we all have 'beautiful' things filled with memories of skinny times or happy times and they just have to stay.
But when I was off.............I did clear loads, mostly stuff that I had that I haven't worn in ages and won't wear again - you know the sort - a top that goes with nothing etc etc.

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

I didn't get the airing cupboard done, but I have got another load in the car ready to take to the tip in the morning, and have identified plenty more for the charity shops....
Today has flown by, though, plus I have been convinced at times that it is Sunday, so all in all a bit of a confusing day!
Hope you have all had a good one and that you have a good evening xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
