I would advise everyone to stay away from anything relating to XXXX.

I've just been thinking that one day when I have acquired oodles of money from somewhere I am going to spend it on a derelict country house and create an autism-friendly holiday destination - not for healing purposes per se but somewhere with a quiet room and a sensory room and not tons of breakable stuff about the place and lots of open space and nobody coming at kids and waving hands around them and such like - just a place where parents can relax for a minute and not worry that their kid is going to be yelled at and stared at and otherwise be intruded upon by people who don't understand why they're not doing what other kids do.

    Can we come? :D

I've posted my link on the movie screenings page (belongs to GN) and RMc's page. It won't let me post on the WW page. :(

SS, i've bought gifts for 3 people already ;) and I think your autism parental escape sounds lovely. My cousin had mild autistic tendencies when younger and my auntie used to take him somewhere that sounds quite similar to your idea, they both loved it.

Have a look on the gadgetshop.com website EA - boys will like spy telescopes and listening devices, and girls will like mini cupcake kits :D

Edit: 3, if I ever manage to create such a thing and you still think it'll be good for you, I'll give you mates rates in exchange for this amount of energy into publicity :rotfl:

well done for sitting up Lily!

    Q. I'm looking for a book that will tell me more about what LO should/could/might be doing. A bit like the book I had for weeks 1-26 when she was a baby. Even better would be a book that gave me some idea of how to encourage (not push) her development too. I have no idea about this stage really! Anyone know of any?

I was going to tell you not to buy a cupcake kit and make one up yourself - but actually not a bad price as it contains a silicone tray :D :j:j:j how very odd that we did something mse today :money:

:rotfl: No, I was on the special occasions board and saw someone mentioned it.

MacSmiler, for £20 I'd make up my own kit, but for a fiver including recipe book and the tray plus the nice packaging I CBA ;) I'm tempted to buy one and store it for Molly :rotfl:

If you have a scan booked for Tuesday I'd save the £80 till Lucy's 26-28 weeksish and get a $d scan. My doctor did those as a matter of course until it was all too cramped in there to see anything beyond her little butt poking out, and it was incredible.

What about the 12 week scan? Do you mean 4d? Wasn't thinking about next weeks scan as it would be too early.
    r.mac wrote: »
in that case do it, but you'll probably not get an appointment before tuesday now :rotfl: but why not have both? (don't tell martin I said that - he might bar me :P )

Oh dear, I've suddenly realised why people have more than one..........oh no. Was that the teeniest, tiniest pang of broodiness - Shhhhhhh, don't tell anyone;)

*wanders off making a mental note to be VERY vigilant about contraception while on romantic holiday next month*

Yes, too early for next week, but was thinking about future scans. If we get better scans or more from it, either with the scan or as part of an experience, then great.

*Makes note that r.mac may be making an announcement around October/November time ;)

DH started out in life as a twin.

MOTM, (and others) its experiances like yours that make me want to be a better MW.
Happy birthday to your twins! And also, i had a private early scan. It was a lovely experiance and so nice to see Lily as a tiny little bean (or smudge on the screen which she looked more like at 7 wks)
I also got 5 printed scan pics, and a disc with 2 videos and 13 scan pics.

Lily sat up today for about a minute!:j:j She usually falls after about 15seconds but actually stayed sat up. She has lovely posture too
Im so proud of her my heart is bursting :o

We went to Tesco and have come out with reduced Chocolate Melt In The Middle pudding, drool.

Started out? Did something not good happen? :(

I'm sure you are a great MW. It's only a minority who are not and that's the same with all job roles. Always rogue employees everywhere.

You got a fair bit at your private scan then. That would be nice to have. I've got all the scans etc from when my girls were babies, upstairs safely stored away.

Well done to Lily on sitting up for a minute. Those 'firsts' are always special :)

    Enjoy the pudding ;)
