*fumes* you have been a single dad and brought up 7 lovely children who have worked hard at school, are loving, not in trouble and are supportive of their lovely father. You also chose to support your family rather than claim benefitsto which you were (quite rightly) entitled. Just because you have 7 children does NOT allow her to make such snap judgements. I'm mad on your behalf. *stomps off*My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »MOTM - what does it say in Lucy's notes? Have you checked them through carefully for accuracy too - when we went for my 12 week scan we realised that they had put down that hubby and I were blood related :eek::eek:
They must have been checking the scan for extra fingers and toes and toes because of the inbreeding :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
:eek::eek::eek: but your soooooo much younger than your DHhow could they think that :rotfl:My notes were right - but I noticed while in labour that at the top of every page they had written lawyer in red pen :rotfl:I wondered why everyone had been so nice!:o

I am incredibly fortunate with Caitlyn and I am continually counting my blessings that she's the complete opposite to how Aimee was... She always goes down well for her morning nap, usually sleeps for 2 hours minimum and often has 30-60mins late afternoon nap too... And we rarely have trouble from her when we put her to bed at night... We put them both down together between 7 and 8... We can often hear them messing around, but not enough to warrant going in to them... They settle down and sleep eventually... And just this week Caitlyn has been waking up at 7ish but in a good enough mood that Aimee can sit and read her a story and I can lie in bed for a few more minutes listening to them...
I believe it's the child not the routine that makes them a sleeper...
If he's tired and cranky for you without a morning nap then I would be inclined to put him down anyway... They're incredibly adaptable so he'd be fine with 1 routine with you and a different routine for the CM...
But you don't have to listen to me
krystal - you are also a veery wise woman. I didn't sleep as a child and LO is the same, but I have found that a strict routine and watching for her signs has helped enormously. As did listening to you lot telling me to chill out about it:D:p:j
why is it that for 20-odd years I never needed to sleep but now I can't have as much as i'd like I am on rations?:cool:r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
good idea MOTM. I second it!
Think of an extra scan as a nice freebie to see baby. What an offensive MW poor Lucy got. Oh and if she's 4 weks further on thats a bonus - 4 less weeks to wait to meet baby. Aas twins run in the family, perhaps that was what prompted the rant (not that it was in anyway right for her to do so and I am NOT defending her - just wondering)
'3' said she already tried, but if I think of anything else, I shall mention it, even if mentioned before. I'm sure their is someone out there that will be disgusted with their behaviour.
Lucy wouldn't be 4 weeks extra on would she as she had period before? Or am I totally barking up the wrong tree? I would ask if twins in the family were due to the females body rather than the mans assistance, but as she had twin brothers, one of which has twin children, I don't think it really matters. It may have been her reasoning, hadn't thought of that.
MFD - She's written 10cm/3.94in Est (estimated?) and notes say based on weight gain from when Lucy weighed herself around the approx time she conceived.
Does that make ANY sense? Is that her belly or an estimate of babies size?0 -

Nooooo! You can't be angry. I've had far worse than that aimed at me down the years and that didn't bother me either. I'm far more upset at the way Lucy was made to feel. I'm big enough (and ugly enough) to look after myself.:D0 -

Nothing extra with a private one then? Not even a cuppa and a biscuit (expensive Cuppa and biscuit granted)0 -
MOTM, they wouldn't be able to estimate the size of the baby without an ultrasound. It's too low down in the pelvis to feel at this point...
And no idea what you get at a private scan, I've only ever had NHS ones... And declined half the ones they wanted me to have...
I need to get dressed... And get the girls dressed... To go and visit a friend... Just have no motivation...

What Krystal said.
The uterus is still sitting behind the pubis bone now, there is nothing to measure. And measuring the uterus that way is not accurate until after 20 weeks. Until then the bladder can still push it up giving a false measurement.
Weight gain is unimportant, it's only noted down to work out BMI and to keep an eye on excessive weight gain/loss.0 -

So what could the 10cm/3.94In be? It does say Est, so maybe it's guess work by midwife, which is a bit unprofessional if it is? I should phone them and have a discussion, but can't because of twins birthday.
Scan next week anyway, sounds like a dating one. Maybe that will tell us more.0 -

I need to phone then, on Monday, although Tuesday is scan, so maybe not much point.

MOTM - 10cm would put her there or thereabouts.
