I do feel a bit shaken up, I woke up because I heard someone walk down the side of the house (it is the access to the row of 4 houses but no one uses it except us) I looked out of the window and our gate was open came downstairs and couldn't see anything, when I got upstairs the gate was shut, it had been the police trying to get to the back of her house, the neighbour in between us had disturbed them and called the cops, the car was abandoned halfway across the road so I went out to see what had happened, ended up letting the police in etc, they've got my details for SOCO to contact me, and I'll clean up as best I can after they've been.
Thanks for listening, I rang OH but theres not a lot he can do and no point worrying him about us being alone so would rather not admit to him how I feel, don't think I'll get much sleep tonight!MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
Millie's Mum, what I've always done when I feel unsafe is to put glass things in front of anything that can open, so even if someone does try to get in they make a bunch of noise doing it.
In any case if it's someone the daughter knows who knows they're away, he's probably not going to come near you because you're there.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Oh MM, that's terrible!
Mel, glad the blessing went well. How smart do your 2 look?! Love the red.
Hammy, sorry I wasn't trying to say you should try CC necessarily, just that it worked for us after months of trying it the 'gentle' way. But definitely try the BW forums if you want - they were all super nice and extremely helpful when I was going that route.
SS, the octopi comment was hilarious.
2 massive poos in the night for us - unheard of chez Aless. Not sure if he's finally figured out how to poop properly after almost 8 months or it's something he's eating.

Sounds like a plan Millies Mum, definitely best to try and catch them before they walk into the house. I'm sure you will be fine, it does sound as if it was somneone who has at least been in their house before, to go straight to the basement!
Yes we had a fantastic day, better than I even imagined it would be. I really needed a day like that and was just smiling and happy all day:D The kids got some really special gifts too, my sister and her fiance (godparents) got them a wonderful teddy and helium baloon each (pink and blue;)) and a gorgeous silver little bangle each. My mum bought them a necklace each, one a little st christopher and the other a little angel set with diamontes, they are amazing.
The house was trashed though and as all the kids had free access to cupcakes the carpet is COVERED in cake crumbs, I have also just filled a whole recycling bag (bin bag size) with empty, squished beer cans. i didn't drink as it is no fun getting up doing night feeds sober, never mind after having a drink!
On the subject of night feeds, it looks like she is definitely dropping one of her night feeds(almost) She misses her midnight feed out and sleeps through till 2ish then wakes at 6am, I could do with her sleeping an extra hour or two but she is getting there:)

Passing the caffeine on to those with bad nights!
In the exciting life I do lead, I'm trying to decide whether to take the bus to the nearest Starbucks & accomplish needed grocery store & post office run from there OR be more MSE and just walk down the hill for PO/groceries and skip the coffee after over-indulging yesterday. Oh, crisis of indecision! LOL! (it won't be til later as I need to wait for the postie to come as we're waiting on a parcel)
