Well bed time has become a total nightmare in our house. I have been struggling for over 2 weeks now and i've had it. He just screams once left. All went to pot, once he could sit up by himself. My plan of going to Asda last night was that he would fall asleep on the way back and then i may have been able to get him in his cot without waking him. Oh no wide awake when we got home.
He gave up crying sometime around 9pm at 10pm he was still mauling around his cot. I went into him and he was knelt up knawing on the bar of the cot. Really is time to drop the base. Other wise he will launch himself out of it soon. Awake at 12.30am and 4am and 6.15am.
With working full time, i try to get ironing done of an evening when they are both in bed, so that I don't use the weekend for it, but i've not been able to it, due to Alex being up and I now have Mount Everest of Ironing to do. There just aren't enough hours in the day.
Not speaking to OH, because he is a KH, we are both on holiday next week and that will all go to pot if he continues to be a KH. Can see it ending up with me and Joe and Alex going out everyday and him stopping at home in his mood. Which is totally unfair on Joe.
(where is a screaming smile when you need one) Arrgggggh
Rant over. Sorry.0 -

V stayed at Nannys on Saturday for the first time ever, in Nannys room in the travel cot.
V slept soundly all night, but Nanny didn't, she woke up everytime Miss Fidget Pants changed position and randomly laughed or chatted in her sleep. :rotfl::beer:0 -
Oh WM what a nightmare
When I had gone back to work I ended up having to take a week off work to sort sleep out, as I couldn't face doing anything that (in the short term) meant I would get less sleep, as I was getting so little all ready, but in the long term I wasn't doing myself any favours iyswim.
Can you do the ironing while he is crying? Sounds like you are leaving him to it anyway (not sure if I have missread you?), so can you not go downstairs and put the tv on, and get on with it? And if not, why can't KHDH do the ironing while you are upstairs with the little ones

((HUGS)) WM - it's awful when you struggle to settle them isn't it - been there done that and I would hate to go back to it. It all went from relatively okay in our house to taking over an hour and I was in tears every night over it.
Does he settle when you are in the room? Does he need reassurance? Can you change anything to try and get him off.
My singing at the door thing made me feel like a prat for a week or two but really worked. Now when I put Benjamin down he opens his mouth for a teething powder, sticks his dummy in, says 'wuv oo', waves and most nights that is all I hear from him. So it can go from awful to wonderful in the blink of an eye with a bit of work at it. xx

SS are you sure I haven't got your daughter here?
The one here has less hair, fewer teeth and is singing to my new Camper shoes. I'm guessing we each have the right one.

quick question,
am currently bidding on ebay on a bundle of boys clothes, 54 items, p&p £6 and my currently bid is £6.06, and I'm winning! LOL
So I dont get carried away, what do we think is a reasonable maximum to go to. Says they are all in good condition, and I think the p&p is really reasonable. Its got listed some good items for when the weather changes (providing L doesnt grow too quickly) inc 9 pairs of bottoms, 16 l/s tops and cardis and jackets.....
Im dreadful when it comes to ebay because I'll bid and bid just to not lose LOL so I need reigning in....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
WM, they all go through it if it makes you feel any better. The singing worked for us. Amber is a nightmare but thats because the boys wake her up, so she has a nap from 7pm till 8/9pm then gets up for an hour.
I'm silently fuming and suppose I should tell someone, DH won't really listen so you guys are getting it. My Mum and Dad haven't even tried to get in contact for Ambers first birthday. Not even sent a card or anything. I know I told them to !!!! off... but if they did love their grand children as much as they claim, they would have tried at least. I would have. It's their grand daughters first birthday, is it unreasonable to expect them to be interested? Then again, they probably don't even remember what her DOB is.0
