  • I think it's totally reasonable to expect them to send her a card, Tia and I'm sorry to hear that they haven't tried to get in touch.

CAFC- I'd probably go to £14 so you're paying £20 all in with the p+p but it would depend how good the stuff looks.

Oh WM what a nightmare :(

Can you do the ironing while he is crying? Sounds like you are leaving him to it anyway (not sure if I have missread you?), so can you not go downstairs and put the tv on, and get on with it? And if not, why can't KHDH do the ironing while you are upstairs with the little ones ;)

Sorry if none of that helps. It is hard :(

I try to leave him, go back every ten mins or so. Lie him back down, dummy back in, cover him up. He stops crying the minute I go back in. And he laughs at me. (Little !!!!!!)

His dad has given in a few times and gone and got him, which I hate doing as it is giving in to him. As for KHOH doing the ironing? You'd think wouldn't you. He was off all day Tuesday, using flexi time up. No kids, no ironing done, dishes still on the draining board when I got home from a full day at work. If I did that OCD man would have stropped greatly, so i did it instead, slamming all dishes and cupboards in the process.
((HUGS)) WM - it's awful when you struggle to settle them isn't it - been there done that and I would hate to go back to it. It all went from relatively okay in our house to taking over an hour and I was in tears every night over it.

Does he settle when you are in the room? Does he need reassurance? Can you change anything to try and get him off.

Thank for the support Lady and MFD. He just doesn't seem tired. I know exactly when he will go off, as he rolls over onto his left side and sort of settles down. But it can take hours to get to this point. He barely sleeps in the day either.

He has been doing that seperation anxiety thing recently though. To whoever is looking after him, me, childminder, grandparent. If you leave the room or even his eyeline. I know it's all a faze and it WILL pass. But the hazy memory of Joe being a good sleeping baby are fading fast and ones of me sitting by the cot with my hand in and crawling out of the room are flooding back.:o

And to top it all OH is being a KH, because as some may remember he was very ill throughout my pregnancey with colitis and was in and out of hospital for months. Recently he has been experience really bad stomach pains again. He will not go back to the doctors. So me being scared and frustrated with him, results in me blowing my stack. Because I simply cannot cope with him being ill and in hospital, while I work and look after two kids. Nor do I ever want to see him that ill again. As it was damn awful. But he is a selfish get and will bury his head in the stan and leave it until he gets to the point were he needs a bl00dy ambulance again. He is all those nasty T and C words and a whole lot more.

PS MOTM -She is wearng your outfit again (one of the few with grippy feet lol must start using the bigger sizes now...)

It took a second to click when you mentioned the outfit :rotfl:I call it the refreshers outfit :p
Now, i'm not overly a picture person, but that is a cracking pic :T Doesn't know which way to turn - the cat's food or the bottles of drink :rotfl:

Lovely cats too, we have as many cats as girls (some of the cats are even boys) and we generally love animals. Your two are beautiful looking aren't they? Boys or girls? Names?

It's exciting times. Just a few weeks until that scan :)

Can't catch up with everything, but well wishes to all who have Birthday's, anniversaries, conceptions and job interviews (have you heard anything yet MFD?)

WM Husband is being much the same way at the moment, I understand your frustration. I was in fits of angry tears the other night because of the way he was on Molly's birthday, but it turned out that he was really ill all day and trying to work through it. It might be that your OH didn't feel up to tackling the dishes and ironing on top of looking after the boys because he's not well - it was that way for Husband and his faffing about with the cake. As I only discovered last night after just over 24 hours of seething and planning single-parent finances.

I wonder if the dishes not being done and him not feeling up to doing them was contributing to him feeling worse?

However, if he's not going to the hospital then ask him what you can do to make sure *you* don't end up in an emergency situation. I find that if I spin it so his not going to the doctor inconveniences me more than his going he'll do it. Is it worth reminding him of the difficulties you have once it all goes all the way downhill?

  • Morning everyone.
Hugs to WM, it's hard enough working full-time when the kids aren't sleeping well, without having to worry about your husband as well.
Hugs Tia - I'm sorry they're being jerks, but they are the ones who are missing out on a wonderful daughter and granddaughter!
    Happy Birthday to Amber!
JAM - I LOVE that pic!
CAFC - I guess it depends on what you think they're worth - if they're in good condition and are good brands and a useful range of items, I might be tempted to go up to £30 including P&p, but then again I spend more than I can afford!!!
MFD - I vaguely remember someone giving us a fleecy babygro for A when she was nearly 3 and being surprised that they went up to that size - it came from Primark, but I haven't been in there for ages so I don't know if they still do them?
3 - congrats on V staying at nanny's so well.

It made me laugh reading back at last night's conversation about timings. Before I had my family, when I lived on my own, I used to have to leave the house at 7am to walk to work for 7.30am. (You should know that I'm fairly short-sighted, just for the benefit of this memory! Also that I have been known to be woken by my alarm, turn it off and go back to sleep). I remember once waking up in a complete panic as it was 7.10am, running around like a maniac trying to get dressed and ringing for a taxi to get me to work....only to get outside and realise that it wasn't just a bit dark, it was pitch black - then realising that the time had actually been 1.35am!!!! I had to ring the taxi company and cancel.
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

Hi SS. Sorry that your OH is still unwell. Why are men suck prats. Impossible to come out and say I am ill when they really are. But moan and groan when they have man flu?

He didn't have the kids, when he was off, they were at the childminder. He had a day to himself whilst i paid £40 for childcare.

He is supposed to take immuno-supressants for the rest of his life, he stopped taking them months ago, as he was loosing hair as a side effect. Vanity / health. Vanity / health. Vanity won.

I just can't get my head around, how if you have ever been in that much pain that morphine does not work, you would ever want to experience that again. Or that you would ever want your partner or child to see you that ill ever. If you could possibly do anything sooner to stop it.

He missed all consultant appointments, so had been struck off by them. He is an a5s, a5s, a5s. Even though he isn't getting prescriptions i'm still paying for the prepaid cert every month, incase he ever ends up on them again, as they were costing a fortune individually.

Will just have to try and get him to go to docs next week, whilst off work as he won't have that as an excuse.

Maz - call it irrational, I am mostly a calm and chilled mummy who doesn't worry - maybe all my mummy-paranoia is fixated in this one thing!!

And there is nothing wrong with that MFD... I have certain things that I tend to be paranoid over and OH doesnt understand so you are not the only one... I think some Pjs I saw in Matalan were fleecy with feet in....

You're both going to lose to Exeter twice, so may as well just hand over the six points each now? ;)

SJ - I would love to borrow your BLW book, thankyou. I told OH and he is really chuffed too so thanks from him aswell :D

Tia - Its not so much MIL doesnt understand the concept as she is already saying what to give T and what not, I think she is worried as they have had a couple of incidents of LOs choking at the nursery recently and when T gets to hers she'll be too scared to give her anything but puree and Id rather avoid that.

I like the idea of the PJs with feet, I find it easier taking of trousers for a nappy change than faffing with poppers! Like Kindof we have the Asda Disney ones for T there £4 a pair but MIL bought them so bonus :D Will get T some of the fleece sleepsuits for winter too cos there cute.

Anyone else here using Naturcare nappies? We were fine with the size 1 but the 2's got too small and yet the 3s were too big so we swapped to pampers for a while. Anyhoo the size 2 pampers are now too small so were moving up to 3's in the babydry for night time and am gonna attempt to use the 5 packs of size 3 nature nappies for the day, just hope they dont leak again!
