I didn't use anything but water on Caitlyn for at least the first year... And I only really use shampoo on both girls now... Never use bubble bath due to Aimee's UTI problem...

And on rashes... Caitlyn's always coming up in heat rash, when she had her first cold, the viral rash that followed lasted a couple of days but I knew what it was from Aimee having similar when she was a toddler... Not really worth bothering the Dr because there's nothing they can do for it...

We used Johnsons a few times, Lily now has Eczema. She was destined to get it anyway because me and Felix have crap skin. But i think the Johnsons bought it on a little.

Also, i used the Johnsons shampoo on her and she got cradle cap. I know it was the shampoo as i onyl ever washed the top part of her hair (thats where people stroked it and got it greasy) and now she only has cradle cap on the top of her head.

It wont go away permently either :( Its gone right down, but if she's stressed her eczema and cradle cap flare up.

Aparently Boots have reduced all their Bright Stars pram toys to 80p, someone on fb just told me :D

We actually do use Johnsons, it is just we were told not to.

Although I bought some method baby shampoo and body wash reduced in Boots the other week and it smells yummy (I actually don't like the smell of Johnsons much!)

Have you tried the dentinox cradle cap shampoo? Worked for us.

Edit - hope you are okay mel hun xx

  • We're using an Asda own brand shampoo at the moment plus some no-more tears conditioner. I have discovered that you can buy 2-in-1 kids shampoo and kids conditioner really easily, but hardly anywhere stocks kids shampoo without conditioner added. It is really weird.

Johnsons gave El cradle cap too. It went away as soon as I stopped using Johnsons

Susan I am on the TPS which I why I always ask where they've got my details. Emma's diary is just another name used by Lifecycle marketing and although most of the baby clubs are name gathering exercises i found that Emma's Diary were worse than others. There have also been some complaints on another forum I use about them selling info to formula manufacturers.

Mel hope you are OK, if it helps I'm not real. (I really wish I wasn't today, the school holidays are hard work!)

Since we're on the subject, why do people use all these baby toiletries? Not saying you shouldn't but I've always been puzzled by it. OH's mum bought us some Johnson's baby bath when Alice was born. I think I've used about half the bottle now - I use it to clean the toilet. She has had bubble bath a couple of times but other than that I've never found she needed anything other than water.

Bubbles in the bath are fun!

Although I was a bit weary about using them on V as OH is really sensitive to anything scented, but she's been ok.

    Mel We're not real. ;)

We only use Johnsons, i did a test throughout pregnancy with wipes. I have sensitive skin, so anything that didn't make my face red and blotchy was a winner. Johnsons won :o

Yup, it has reduced it alot, but the last lot will just not go. Its not bothering her or me so i just leave it. Her hair covers it anyway :)

That's one reason why I don't really use stuff - I used to have a lot of skin trouble and Alice has had mild eczema anyway even without using soaps and purfumed stuff on her. (Although she hasn't had skin trouble since we moved house so I have a theory it was the mouldy house that was her problem.)
