Have you considered a bike seat rather than a trailer? You really don't feel the weight of a bike seat but the trailers are heavy in themselves and there are some killer hills in Longleat at the best of times.
Also I worry about shaken baby injuries in a trailer - although he will be 10 months or so so he should be alright I guess. The guidance says definitely not under 6 months IIRC.
Ooh, I had just assumed that the trailer would be safe for him. Did you get a bike seat for Benjamin? H is a fairly hefty boy, already the size of most 1 year olds so I would think he would be okay. I wonder of they'd let us try both before we decide?
All your chattering babies sound so cute! We now have a definite Dada and Mama and a possible Nana. He also shouts Da at his ducks, but I'm not sure if that is just coincedence.
The birth afterthoughts service was good. The MW was lovely and everything happened as I thought it had. Fairly big incompetence which resulted in me not being offered a blood transfusion when I should have been  but I have survived to tell the tale so it can't have been that important.
My big concern was really what will happen next time, and although she couldn't give a definite answer (obviously) it was reassuring to talk it through. She thinks I failed to progress primarily because of H's position, but she also said it was partly that he just wasn't ready to come out. If it looks like the presentation is that same as H then I could ask for a planned C section, and if I do go overdue I can request a C-section rather than induction if I want to. She said next time I could refuse induction if I get that far as I might just bake babies for longer. All in all it was a useful chat, and I recommend it to anyone who has questions about their labour/birth.

Afternoon all..
Well, the physio as just uttered the words "He's really coming on now, well done!" - at long blinking last, acknowledgement!
He did just crawl (quickly, in the prized position!) the length of the room and halfway down the hallway so it was much deserved
She's not coming back for TWO WHOLE WEEKS now since he's doing so well
She's still in denial that he can do so much more. It quite funny really, the way she moves at lightning speed to stop him climbing up
Hope everyone is well xx0 -

To save him some petrol, I could meet him around Glasgow on Saturday! :rotfl:
Susan, If L had said she's up to no mischief, it would mean she most definately is.
GISI I've got a baby seat on the back of my bike, although it looks bulky, you hardly notice she's there. (When she stops giggling, I have to keep turning around to check she's still there!)
We had a funny incident last night. L's bedroom door is a bit sticky (as are most doors in this house!). She'd gone up to bed, and about an hour later we heard lots of banging. I assumed it was her normal gymnastics practice and just shouted up to stop banging. Then my house phone rings but I couldn't find it. A little while later the house phone rings again so I went to hunt for it. I found my mobile in the kitchen on silent, with 10 missed calls, voicemails and a texts from L & my Mum. Text from L said 'PLEASE HELP, I'M TRAPPED AND NEED A WEE!' :rotfl:She'd also been on the phone to my Mum, who was then also trying to phone me to find out why L was locked in her room!:beer:0 -
My eye is feeling a bit better thanks.
I had to go to an opticians exam this morning as I'm a test patient for trainee opticians. The examiner had a look at my eye for me and said there is no damage and it should settle down within a couple of days. He gave me some comfort drops which have helped. He was laughing and said his wife did exactly the same thing! It didn't seem to put the trainee off and he managed fine.
Hope everyone is having a good day xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
I sympathise.my kittens have just shreaded a whole toilet roll???

I just made a chocolate cola cake, and now I have to leave it to cool completely before I can frost it and then fridge it and then take it out the tin! I just want to eat it now! What kind of stupid idiot invents a cake recipe you cant eat!!
MFD, S does the hands for all gone but usually says "A GA!" I dont know why, cos when he actually tries to say it properly its very clear and brings a little tear to my eye!! When we were waiting for him to be checked out in the hospital last week he was running around the kiddy waiting area shouting hello, hiya and bye bye at the nurses and doctors, but hasnt said it since!
When OH goes to work in the morning he waits for him to get his bag on and then runs after him with his lips puckered up going MMMMMMMM for a kiss, then waves and says bye, shuts the door behind him and turns round and does the all gone thing, so cute!
I just get the door shut behind me
perhaps I kiss him more often and I dont need the extra goodbye kisses?
I am in a stinking mood with OH. I finished work an hour early yesterday and power walked home to surprise him thinking we could get a hour of S free time
and found him looking very guilty and red faced, on his laptop with a box of tissues at the ready... just had a look at the history, apparantly I have no need to worry about him running off with a younger woman  Mummy to

Hi
Elliot is finally cutting his last two teeth, but it's really making him feel unwell
He's really hot and bothered, not eating much and is really clingy to me and sleeping a fair amount. He's currently asleep on the living room floor, which is totally unlike him! He usually doesn't sit still for a minute let alone doze off on the floor. I've given him some calpol, and he's just in a vest as he's hot. Poor thing.

No - I think she just knew that when I said, "What are you up to?" I really meant, "Are you up to mischief?" Presumably she's planning something though as she then asked me for £60 in cash. Was she in fact up to mischief, Susan?

Just want to mention that everyone is always allowed to refuse an induction if they want to. I'm not necessarily advocating that people do but you are always allowed to refuse medical treatment even in pregnancy. (There was a case where a lady had a court ordered caesarian section and when she challenged it afterwards, it was ruled that she had the right to refuse and the court should not have overuled her decision.)got-it-spend-it wrote: »My big concern was really what will happen next time, and although she couldn't give a definite answer (obviously) it was reassuring to talk it through. Obviously this requires you to have lolly moulds but I find home-made lollies are very effective at getting Alice to consume stuff when she's ill. I just make a smoothie (yoghurt/buttermilk, banana plus other random fruit) and put it in the moulds to freeze.Hi

Also sponging with a damp cloth is supposed to help with temperatures.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5
