Piriton.. if he is over 6 months.. failing that medised instead of calpol.. it has antihistamine which calpol doesn't. ...
FYI - medised is now only for over 6yo or something (a rule I obviously would never break without consulting my GP )

Funny you've been talking about the stopping BFing today! It has been really easy to cut out feeds between 9am and 4pm here, until today! Ed was really unsettled this afternoon and was pulling at my top asking for boobie, it was SO HARD to not give in to him :( I was strong though and he fell asleep about 5 seconds before I would have been joining him in tears :o

The Pox is going around here too, one of my college friends' LO has got them, I'm currently paranoid at every red spot I notice on the boys :p I thought it was a bit late for it to be doing the rounds though, isn't the usual pox season around april?

Beccles - I'm not sure I wrote my post properly :o I think he looks fine, I'm surprised you were told he was very underweight but they didn't want you to get him checked tho - typical of our healthsystems :p

Anyhoo I'm off to bed, night all

Sami - it was this time last year that Katie got the pox - I found oat baths and aloe vera very useful for stopping the itch. She was a bit poorly for a day or so, even a blueberry carrying grandad didn't cheer her up

Video on the way, I'm just trying to choose the best bits.

Well I'm to bed to sulk! Just watched the last in the series of Criminal Minds from last night and it's to be continued! I hate it when they do that!

Hope everyone has a good night.

Glam only other things I can think of are things you'd buy here to take with you, sun cream, new clothes etc.

I did the oaty bath earlier, the spots seemed to be appearing as he was in the bath :( I did use some calamine cream (not the lotion) as they looked so angry. I'm dreading the morning cos I'm pretty sure he's going to be covered in them.

I'm itching like mad, never had the pox but been vaccinated so 'shouldn't' get it!

Anyone want a 'pox party? :D

I got some Sun cream for J today as ASDA have the Amber Solaire Factor 50 down from £9 to £5. Need to remember to get ours. I have plenty of clothes, will just grab a couple of cheapo vests. My bag will consist of 6 cheapie vests, couple of sun dresses, some shorts and undies - Glam Packed! :D Jack will be pretty much the same. Will be MIL that needs to check luggage *rollseyes*

Chicken pox is going round here as well, 2 work friends have children with it and an old school friend's LO has it too. AFAIK S has had no contact with any kids with it as yet, but thats bound to change... I just hope he doesnt get it 3 times like I did, apparantly my body has no immunity to it!

Had a long sit down and a chat with my nan today. She is in her 80's now and ATM still lives in the family home where my mum, auntie and myself were all brought up, but out of the blue she has decided she wants to move out, probably into a nursing home :(
She has offered it to us to rent though, and she only wants us to cover her rent so financially it makes sense. Plus she had planned to leave us the house anyway, so we can really settle there and know its ours and we wont have to move again unless we want to.
Thing is, she is able bodied still ATM, just has the usual hip/back etc pains associated with old age and is in good health, so I am very surprised she has decided she wants to go into a nursing home, I dont see what possible benefit it would be to her? The last thing I want is to see her go in in a fit state and end up vegetating because theres nothing else to do and thats what everyone else in there does :(
I suggested a warden assisted retirement flat instead but she wasnt very keen.
