great just got calamine!
Pigpen - what do u suggest?
I have bonjela thanks Tia
So far just on his bum, under arms and tops of legs oh and one on his face & yes he did catch it in creche. No creche til theyve all scabbed over so no work for me & OH gonna take it in turns.
went to next and got 2 lovely work dresses @ £15 each. :money:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Glam, baths. If you have porridge oats, put some in a bag of some sort and run it under the water. I found the best thing for the boys (few years ago) was piriton, baths (no bubbles or soap) and let them be. I had to use bonjella and then the pharmacist gave me gel. They both got them on their penises, DS2 had them around the nappy rub lines (you know where the nappy rubs the skin), DS1 couldn't pee without screaming at one point. Why I think it's better them getting it when young, they wont remember.0

Piriton.. if he is over 6 months.. failing that medised instead of calpol.. it has antihistamine which calpol doesn't.
Cool baths.. run a bath of oats under the running tap to make the water oaty.. and a bit of bicarb helps too.. in the bath!
Calamine only works while it is wet.. once it dries it makes the spots super itchy.. you may as well dab on water/sponge down it works just as well!.. I let mine be nakedish just so the skin was cooler than usual.. they are itchier if they are warm.
Getting them young means they scar less and they are much less likely to be actually ill with them and secondary infections are much less common. Getting them as an adult is terrible.. my uncle was ill for about a month and ended up in hospital!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
phew - we've had a busy day, and I've been spring cleaning pretty much since I got in (well, except for a 5 min sit down, and a 10 min feed!)
There was a street party in town, so we went to that, and have also got new shoes for Izzy, and a few bits for me in the next sale (£28 on a pair of trousers, a top and some leggings... now to try it all on and check it all fits and I don't hate it!) One of the stalls at the street party was a "fishing ducks out of a paddling pool to win prizes" thing, and I won a free venture photo shoot, and enough free money to spend to get one and a half pictures. I'm sure they will try the hard sell and try to get us to upgrade/buy more than one, but we will have to go in with our stubborn heads on. Tbh I don't mind paying a little bit extra, but I don't really want to pay the extra £45 it will be to get an extra picture. DH thinks we might be able to put the extra towards a disk with all the pictures on, but i'm pretty sure venture don't let you do that? We will find out anyway.
Everyone else having a good saturday.

The nurse I spoke to from out of hours said 'Oh he's too young for antihistamine' but the GP prescribed it for him the other week even though its not licensed for under 1's so I'll give him that.
He has them on the nappy rub line, thats where they are most prominent and are spreading up his bum nowHoping he doesn't get any on his winky. He's asleep now after some paracetamol, he is so whingey its awful.
I must cut his nails when he wakes up and cut mine as well so I don't catch him, I remembered the oaty bath thing from when Hammy posted about David. I hope he's feeling better.
Lady - I 'won' a Venture photography session but read a few threads on it and won't be taking them up on it :cool:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
