Not as justified as many of you, but quick sleep rant too - for months Elijah has mostly been ok with night sleep, going down around 8.30-9 and waking up 6.30-7 and sleeping through unless sick. Daytime naps a bit more of an issue but often ok. But for the last week,
a) one of us has had to go back in to re-settle him anything from 3-6 times after bed - so that he's often not asleep til 9.45
b) these re-settles are suddenly "harder" than they used to be, with him clinging violently to my neck and refusing to be put down for maybe 5 minutes each time - this really gets me angry because I feel like my only choice is to force him physically off me
c) is waking up 1-3 times each night between maybe 3am and 5am, again needing proper re-settling with 5-10 mins of holding and cuddling
d) is getting up for the morning around 6, instead of close to 7.
So overall his sleep suddenly got quite a lot worse. I am hoping it's just the heat and he'll revert when it cools down, but it's not at all clear that it is! I don't want to re-visit the idea of controlled crying suddenly at this late stage when everything's been fine for quite a while but the current model is not acceptable!
Bad luck to the other early risers, hope the rest of you had a good night0 -
Ouch Bruno, that sounds awful, and right around Mrs Bruno's so-tired-can't-be-awake stage of pregnancy, right?
It probably is the heat, I'm waking with it and I know what it is/can do stuff about it. It must be very confusing for the small ones. I know what you mean about the clinging baby, I can't detach Miss Molly when she does that, it's just beyond my capabilitiesOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I wish I could blame the late night/early morning on the little one, but alas I cannot he slept a full 11hrs, it's just me and my insomnia.
Daniel is currently making my front room look like an episode from "attack of the killer bricks" but we have a new word - car :j
Just deciding what to do today? It's windy outside, but sun is shining and it's meant to warm up- decisions decisions??Mummy to D born 21/04/09 and S born 09/05/120 -

Morning
Sorry to hear all the poor sleep stories. Hope people take it easy today xx
It's my Dad's 65th birthday today. My Mam has bought him a flying lesson, so he'll up in the air around 12pm-ish! Then they are coming here for a meal.
His fave meal is steak and chips, so I've been to the butchers and got some beautiful sirloin. He'll be thrilled! We made a chocolate cake yesterday (another fave!) and Charlotte is going to decorate it this morning.
Bought him some stream train tickets for a ride around the North East on lines that are not usually open to the public. He's a right anorak, so he'll love it!
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -

dora if you can get a train to edinburgh then there should be one from edinburgh to ladybank and then its only 10 min drive to my house past all the cows and sheep and not huge primarks and fantastic food places hehe!
The rain has stopped so i think we may head to the car boot and see what bargains are around this weekhope everyone has a lovely day!
What's for you won't go past you0 -
Bruno that sounds like hard work, hope everything settles back to normal quickly for you.
Well done Toby! Hope you made the most of it fbb and weren't awake and up checking on him lol. We had a good night too after the slight hiccup getting him into bed. Don't think I said it last night but first time I put him into his cot he screamed! Unheard of here so I was quite shocked.
Well done Daniel with the new word too. LOL @ attack of the killer bricks, Dora!
Ooh my baby just put his foot in his mouth!! Looks like he's taking after his mummy after all :rotfl:
Becles sounds like a lovely day for your dad, I'm sure he'll be thrilled with all that.
Not much going on here today. Got washing on the line and another load in, might clean the bathroom and dust and hoover upstairs but that's about it! DH is out at football this afternoon0 -
awww sorry for bad sleep. We were up early, too! He'd been going until about 6:15/6:20 all week and today decided 5am was time. Poor DH, on his day off too! I'm not sure if I ever said, because I was a bit
at being minorly controversial, but we did CC last Sunday night and since then we've been getting a million times more sleep.
Bruno, I was just thinking we hadn't heard from you in a couple of days.
Did anyone else get a random delivery of Pampers Active Fit from Tesco panel yesterday? For testing, but yay for free nappies!
More holiday prep to do today - gotta hit Sbury's to get some chocolate supplies requested by my dad (:D) and then DH's friend is coming over so there's dinner to sort...and start gathering stuff for packing!!
oh and I remembered 2 more foods that were good for us: pepper slices - he likes to suck on them raw but nothing gets eaten, so if I steam them lightly he'll munch and swallow some. That and parsnip (very popular - steam it)
