Oh hammy, that must be hard. (and not especially good for YOU to bf without eating very much with calcium in!)
Didn't get very much more cleaned up before a certain someone woke up, and now it is milk time. Will have to pop beebies on when she has finished I think, just while I get this bit done!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Most surreal thing happened today..
I was out with the dog when we saw a man who also had a Springer. So as you do, get chatting about the dogs. Then the conversation goes to babies, and sleeping patterns. I make a comment that i hope Amber will stay good at sleeping as i'm starting an IT course soon.
Well he works in IT and we talked for over an hour, and swapped email addresses - he's offered to help me with getting all the right certificates and some voluntary work to put on my CV when i'm ready. What a lovely man he was. His wife is a nurse and he works for Apple, their house is amazing. 5 years ago he didn't even know how to turn a computer on!
It's not what you know...etcThink i'll be keeping in touch with this guy lol

We took Keira horse riding today, well it's more like Pony walks, but until age 5 she can't do lessons (9 months then
) anyways she started off on a little brown Pony called Robbie but another girl who was having a pony trek at the same time was frightened at the height of the white pony (casper) so the lady asked Keira to swap, and she was like "okay yey white pony!" and she wasn't scared at all (even though he was considerably higher, I think about 13H?)
She loved it so much, the lady said that she is a natural and just really confident, the horse stumbled over something at one point and went into a quick trot for about 3 seconds, and Keira starts bawling out "YEEEEEY GIDDY UP!" and was a bit dismayed that the horse was not going to start galloping with her on the top.
Going back next week0 -

We get stuck in food ruts here, too!
Here's things we've tried that have gone down well/seemed easy for him to eat: cucumbers (fav), orange segments (fav), tomatoes, plums, peaches, nectarines, toast with marmite, Weetabix (dry), sausage, meatballs, butternut squash (fav), carrots, fried egg, cheese, chicken, broccoli.
He also loves hummus & weezl's bean pate. If he doesn't fancy the rice cake or toast that it's spread on, then he'll just suck it off.
As far as spoon things go, we've only really tried Greek yoghurt and fruit pots that I got ultra cheap using a Boots voucher. I put the stuff on a spoon and then give him the spoon.
Things that haven't been a huge hit are apples and pasta/noodles! Sometimes he'll just not be keen on one of the above and most ends up on the floor rather than in his mouth. Oh and potatoes we've only tried once or twice so not sure how those go.
So far it's been a lot of raw and very little cooked. More complex flavours and actual "dishes" are our next thing, I think.
I tried baking some oaty flapjacky things using a recipe I found on OS, but they were far too crumbly for grabby baby fists, so I need to try again. I'm wondering if mini pasty/turnover things might be good for getting more protein and complex flavors in. Anyway, going to try another flapjacky thing tomorrow as I need stuff to take on the plane other than dried fruit snacks.
ETA: hammy, ahhh I see! Sorry didn't realise, hope you didn't think I was sounding critical?
Beenie, awesome! Sounds like someone was telling you you chose the right path.
Buttons, those pics of Keira are soooo adorable. I used to teach horseback riding to little girls, so getting started at a very young age is definitely the way to go. Beenie, lol at "has anyone seen my nose?" :rotfl: and well done on signing up to OU. I did half a course last year, loved it and did really well butgot pg ans distracted and gave upand I really regret not finishing.
Lovely pics BM
Aless, how about avocado on rice cakes? That's something I'd like A to like as avocado is great, and lots of good fat in it too. Have you tried any meat yet?0 -

Oh I forgot avocado! Yes, that's also been received okay. Too slippery right now to pick up on its own, but spread on things has been eaten. He likes chicken and sausages (and hot dogs, but of course I wouldn't know that ) and the meatballs were okay-ish. Need to try fish next.
And yes we are going to use disposies on while we're away (:() but don't need to take many with us as is just easier to buy them over there than stuff our luggage full!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Thanks everyone
Aless - What a cool job you had! I am thinking about starting some lessons myself, I've always wanted to ride a horse, I'm just baulking a bit at the £23 a lesson charge  Cause presumably, I'd have to do it weekly ?0
