Anyone have experience with draughty fireplaces? Never lived with any before and now we have 3! It's barely September and freezing at night.
wm, I'm deffo in no hurry for crawling! I mean, it's cute and all but it just means trouble. He already wiggles around and inches a good few feet without crawling, so that's good enough for me. Don't want him to grow up!

You could try proping a board against them Aless... My aunt has something that looks a bit like a blackboard but it's shaped nicely and fits behind the grate but infront of the hole...

We had one such fireplace in our last place and we crafted cardboard boxes into a blockage, worked sufficiently well. Was a bit lazy though.0

Well mostly they were in the depth of the fireplace/up the chimney, so the side facing the world was not that extreme
it was easy and fairly effective though, and as Aless has just moved I bet she has some cardboard laying around
