Hi, so I managed to get a VIP slot, I didnt check my email til today and got it yesterday so have got a slot for thurs! I have had a next account for maybe7 months, have ordered a few things recently, a gas cooker, etc, I don't pay in full each month but usually pay double the minimum payment.

I am really happy as I really need a new mattress (we cannot sleep on ours anymore as it is so uncomfortable so we sleep on the sofas) am really excited as now hoping to get a new one in the sale, but i am guessing they will all be gone tommorrow, or that I may order and it may just not come!

We have looked in second hand shops etc for months but had no luck and its getting ridiculous! I really hope we get one...they are soooooo expensive!!!

I need a kingsize one.

I know they are very expensive! But we do not have the funds to buy one for cash in the cheaper stores...argos etc...and this cant be good for us, sleeping on our sofa! And I always end up with the 2 seater haha!!

I also really want a memory foam one...I had a bad injury a couple of years ago on my neck and lower spine so hoping it will alleviate some of the pain!!

This is going to sound a bit bonkers........so please don't yell at me! I have been fortunate to get a VIP slot this time round. Have not had one in a couple of years. In a wierd way I kind of wish I didn't have it as I will no doubt rack up hundreds on my account.

I think a lot of stuff we purchase in sales is based on "want" more than actual "need". Granted, there are always some essential items but I get carried away and order stuff "to see if I like it, if it fits etc" because it is such a bargain. I therfore end up spending way more than I should!!

The vast majority of stuff is for my 2yr old and 4yr old boys to put away for next summer which can be viewed as money saving on one hand, but then not on the other as I don't technically "need" it right this minute!

I am going to try my very very best to be ruthless and cut out 50% of the stuff on my wish list. Mind you, some things no doubt will go out of stock before the sale goes live - then stuff (esp kids stuff) flies out really really quickly. This may naturally solve my problem lol!!

I think the best approach is - bank on nothing at all and if I get anything I want then I have been lucky. If I get nothing - then no major catastrophe and I have saved myself a fortune!! :cool:

I'm planning on using Quickshop during my VIP slot. If I put all of my items in there before my slot, are they likely to still be there when I log in during my slot? Also the items I put in will all have been at full price. Will the prices revert to the sale price when I log back in during my slot?

Adding all the items beforehand will save a lot of time and effort but I just want to be sure that it will work during the VIP slot.

I didn't get a VIP slot last year, and could have done with it a lot more then than this year. However I am going to make the most of it and grab a few bargains.

If I don't get one next year I'll probably be disappointed, but I won't chuck my toys out of the pram because I had a go this year.

Reading the terms and conditions it looks like it will be limited to 60 items per vip slot again. Which I feel is probably way too many as it means that everyone doesn't get a fair chance to get at least some of the items that you want in the vip slots and by the time the sale actually starts.

The reason that they do VIP slots in my opinion is because the computer system cannot cope if it was made a free for all. Just look at Boots and the problems people have with them when their sale goes online.
