02 Tariffs (Simplicity-Data)

I have been with 02 for around 7/8 years and am on a contract at the moment which runs out next week. I'm not really fussed about a new phone, but will probably stick with them and move onto the 'Simplicity' deal.

I've noticed they don't offer Mobile date bolt on's with this online though? I'd like to change over online and get the £100 Quidco but want to keep my unlimited Data or something similar.

They do good deals like £15 for 600 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited calls to other 02 phones, but none of the tariffs mention internet?

At the moment I get 600mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £20pm.

Don't really want to go over that 20 quid , just wondering if anyone knows of a way to get a decent amount of 'Data' usage with this simplicity deals? If not I'll ring them tomorrow but everyone on here is helpful etc!

Cheers

You need to use the drop down and select "Simplicity for smartphones" this will give you internet data and wifi. For Simplicity for smartphones 12mths would give you the same as what you currently have now for £20 with extra Wifi. But all their data tariffs from 1 October will be reduced to 500MB a month, unless you take the higher rate tariffs which give you 750MB or 1GB a month.

I'm sort of in the same boat at the moment. My 12mths simplicity runs out this month and I'm just thinking if its worth signing back on for another 12 months for £100 cashback or whether to just signup with giffgaff using their goodybags to get true unlimited data. Is 500MB enough for your use, will determine where you go.

Simplicity gives a choice of bolt online. Either calls to landline or O2 or for a fiver extra internet usage of 500MB

Thanks, didn't realise you could get it as a bolt on.

I'd be happy with the 600 mins, unlimited texts and internet.

I'm not very good at 'guessing' the usage, I mean all I do is check emails, football scores and sites like these on a basic Nokia 6600 phone, it's nothing fancy, no downloads or anything. Although i do browse more or less every day for a couple of hours or so.

At a guess do you think 500mb would do me?

Having looked again I thin the 300 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited 02-02 Calls would do me ok, if I could add on the 500MB data?

Only comes to £10 (without data) so it's cheaper than what I pay now. Only option I can find to add mobile internet is a £10 option for 1GB

If you choose simplicity for smartphones over 12 months instead you get 300 mins/unlimited texts/500mb data for £15 per month.

Edit: I also looked at the Quidco website and it does state the £100 cashback is for a £15+ tariff. I would be inclined to go for the smartphone contract on this basis, just in case they try and wriggle out of the cashback by saying the bolt-on isn't part of the tariff or something like that.

Hi seems we are all in simialr boats here. My contract finishes at the end of this month and I want to use the quidco £100 cashback so will opt for the simplicity for smart phones at £15 a month, asked quidco if this was ok and they said it should be eligible for the cashback. That said can anyone tell me how oit works if I take out this new contract via quidco now . Will I have to pay for 2 contracts until the end of July or by getting the pac code can I go straight onto my new contract with no default fees etc. O2 web site is impossible to get sense out of. Any help gratefully recieved.

I would recommend you move your existing contract to PAYG and once that is done use the following transfer form to move your existing number to the SimOnly. You would be risking your cashback if you attempt to do a contract to contract transfer, if they start fiddling your new contract details they may not match the original order placed and may fail validation in 2 months time and result in no payout. It takes about 3 months before the cashback is paid into your account.

Thanks for the tip,I am already on sim only (simplicity 20) so only want to sort of downgrade via quidco to simplicity 10 with data bolt hence £15 tariff and get £100 cashback. Do I still need to go payg and then transfer to new contract? My worry is that if I wait until the end of July when my sim only contract ends the cash back deal will be gone. I would like to switch it all now if possible. Your plan still the best ?

    Cheers

Thanks this is a big help. Found the data bolt on in the end, I take it you don't need an Iphone etc for the 'smartphone' tariffs? I think the answer is an obvious no but thought I better check...

What is my best bet, wait till my contract runs out and ring them next week to cancel, then sign up online to get the Qudico cashback? I would prefer to keep my number but to get £100 back I could live with telling everyone my new one!

if u plan on using quidco, i wouldnt leave it too late. i have a feeling its due to end very soon. i did speak to O2 to request my pac code today. i was also told if u sign up to the 12mths simplicity you are only tied to the term and not the plan. which i did not know, so theorectically you could get £15pm with quidco. wait for the cashback to be paid out then switch down to the £10pm thereafter. i don't know whether i trust his words or whether he was just attempting to keep my custom.
